We can't always blame God friends. My last relationship was three years (2007-2010) and God showed me maroon flags that I ignored because I didn't want to be alone. So I settled. It was painful but it was a huge lesson. I will NEVER settle and I am now aware of what I will and will not put up with. Saints there is a difference between settling and compromise. It actually showed me that I had issues as well that I needed to deal with. I didn't LOVE myself as much as I thought I did. If I valued myself I would've NEVER settled nor ignored the maroon flags. Thank God for healing and change. I am totally different than I was back then. Thank God that man was NOT the one! When God says no I completely trust Him.

This topic is such a coincidence! I started crying at the second and third one. It's hard letting someone go especially you've been with each other for a long time I tried so many times and I couldn't. It's too hard. But yesterday, I let that someone go and succeeded by God's help. I let go by submitting to His promises and to trust His perfect timing.

I remember an unrequited love I had where my heart was broken. I had all the pain of a relationship fallout without the benefit of having actually being in one. 💔😢

I am convinced i heard "I have someone for you." when I was out for a run one day. I feel confident it was authentic and not my own voice due to confirmation of a Godly mentor that agreed with it as well as how i felt and reacted to hearing it. I felt a bit shocked like it was out of nowhere. That was 2 years ago and I have been on a few failed dates since then so it has definitely been a bit of a struggle to wonder if that was just me or the Spirit. All I can do is be patient and know I am in God's will.

I have had my eye out for this one guy in my church for years and about 8 months ago we became friends, I fell for him and didn’t even realize. He’s a godly man, he marks off all the check marks a good man could have and you can see it by his fruit. When I noticed the person he was, I asked God if he would move us together in a close friendship and slowly with time we became pretty good friends. But with this quarantine I haven’t heard from him or anything. In waiting for a sign or anything from him to tell me he feels the same but it’s silence, so I tell myself wait. I have no idea if he likes me or thinks about me. I’m slowly giving up and preparing myself to move on but he has grew on me so much that’s it’s hard to let go. I don’t know what to do, I ask god and nothing seems to be happening. I found this video today and it was perfect timing cus I feel like I need to move on because nothing is happening between me and this guy but at the same time I feel like I just need to wait or tell him how I feel and be honest. But I also want to listen to God If he is telling me to move on. I just don’t understand why we would grow close to each other through prayer for this to fall apart. It’s hard to understand but I want to do the right thing.

God spoke to me & my Ex husband at the same time telling us to get married. We was living 500 miles apart during that time. So, it does happen. I was fasting & praying about my single life and I was clearly shown that the Lord wanted me to get married. Unknownly the very same time God spoke to my Ex. He too was fasting & praying. We were definitly called to be married. It lasted almost 20 yrs. We have a daughter together. Sadly we both were responsible for ending our marriage even though he filed for divorce. But, the Lord has forgiven & healed us. When you take marriage vows you're committing your lives to each other in a holy union, ordained by God. Marriage is a serious calling not to be taken lightly. Ty for this video it explained why I met a man that I thought I was to marry only to be hurt by him, He changed his mind after professing his love for me. I was deeply wounded by his rejecting me. It's been 5 yrs and I'm still feeling the pain if it all. I can't seem to let go of him in my mind & heart. But in time, I know I will. I must!

Christians you are not alone. While the pandemic certainly amplifies things, especially the single life, God's mercy is new every morning and His love endures forever. This is such a powerful video! You’re right: relationships are one of the most powerful ways God teaches us to discern His voice. When God is choosing our spouses for us we need to remember His heart (1 Sam. 16:7): His promise extends beyond us and included our generations to come: so He’s looking at you and that man in the next 30 years when you may just be looking at him for today or tomorrow. This is why we need to learn the art of guarding our hearts which like you said comes from practice: you break your heart one too many times you learn how to handle it with care 🔥 so much more I want to say but this was such a great video thanks for sharing!

This video is spot on. My experience was bittersweet in the sense that, although my hopes had to wake up to the sobering reality of the situation, I found God during that process. I am happy about that but I am also pained too. That experience did it for me, and I no longer wish to be in love. Proverbs 4:23 is about one of my treasured scriptures because of it. All in all, my heart can only take so much - I'm ok with just worshipping God in my singleness at this point. I subconsciously yearned for the answer to this question all this time without realizing it.. It was something I needed but did not know I needed. Thanks again.

100% perfect timing. Nothing lost but much gained. Pain and hurt can reveal the inner weaknesses only when you open up to someone who speaks of God as the Head of the home. I am grateful for a very short term long distance beginning of a relationship that opened up my mind, my perception of who I would end up dating and where God would direct me. As in location. A few days ago I had to stop talking to a guy because he said that he wanted to marry me when I only knew him for a few days. I didnt feel the same way. So thats why I'm waiting for God's best.

I think a lot of the time people mistake the voice of God for the voice of Satan . As Satan does manifest himself as an angel of light .

Thanks for the video. I did learn my lesson with the kind of women I choose to be close to, especially Christian women. Several of these Christian women I got close to, they seemed to enjoy sexual sin without feeling guilty, even after I told them to stop. Others kind of threw themselves at me. I do want a God fearing woman and had crushes or feelings for a few, but they seemed out of my league with how attractive they are, or my knowledge of the Bible wasn't that great yet, or they didn't want to be close. Sometimes I felt I wasn't attractive enough. One I admired didn't even want a boyfriend, was flaky and I hoped to change her mind, but later on I saw her reject God for a time, though lately she seems to be serious about God again (but seems to admire some new age ideas too....). I also gave up on western women for a time because foreigner Christian women seemed more likely to accept you and less likely to have drama or mind games, after my experiences of being friends or more than friends with several women close to where I live. I am confident that God has someone for me, who maybe even lives close by to makes things easier, but sometimes it's tempting to just settle for less again.

When you take God out of the relationship it won't work right.

When this video first came out, I didn’t want to hear it, but now that some circumstances have happened where I want to pursue God MORE, I’m glad that this video appeared at the top of my home page/recommended. I know God will bring the right person at the right time, or he might already be in my life. Until God reveals who he has for me, I need to focus more on God, and fully trust him with everything, good and bad.

This message really hit home. I've felt for years that God didn't intend for me to marry. I thankfully had those desires disappear for years but come back a year ago when my life was turned upside down. Now I have spent my time in quarantine feeling like God was teaching me to open my heart to push past my fear of rejection. I started doing studies, and I really saw one person that I had as an acquaintance was the first man I'd met that really seemed to be a more mature Christian than men I was interested in previously. It took no time once quarantine was done to realize how wrong I was and how I'd let my own loneliness during quarantine affect how I was hearing God. I heard what I wanted because I was lonely. I feel like a fool as a fairly mature Christian. Self-quarantining for a while as I clearly wasn't trying to hear God, just me.

I learned my lesson because I was led on by someome who clearly was not in his right mental frame of mind. His words spoke louder than actions but I knew he was not right. It sucked but thankfully I was not a rebound or whatever intention he wanted with me.

God is good he definitely hears us when we pray I needed this .

#3 speaks to me most of all. After a few bad relationships I now know what I'm looking for in a Godly woman. I've been connecting with a young lady from out of state on Facebook. She is a Christian and she ministers to people with special needs, which means a great deal as I have some developmental disability diagnoses. I'm trying to wait on God to give me a sign, whether I remain friends with the young lady or maybe she's the one He wants me to marry. I'm exercising all my patience on the Lord in this matter. This was such a great teaching Mark. I needed to hear it. More than a year later after my last relationship ended and now I understand fully what Abba was trying to teach me that I need to love myself first, I can't change anyone (he should already be that Godly man as you said) and that yes I NEED to guard my heart (something I didn't know before the last relationship and now I DO). I love the analogy you gave with the computer program download. I'm happy I serve a God that treats me like His true creation and not a machine. He knew the experience would be hard and heart breaking but wow He also knew I could survive to the other side! I prayed last night asking God to heal my heart and mind, along with my boyfriend’s heart and mind. After I prayed, I didn’t feel angry and upset anymore. I felt that God did hear me and he did just that. Things are still a little rough right now but he gives me proof that things will get better. This video is perfect timing!

I have experienced this lately, not in a man/woman relationships but with a person, I had hoped would be a good friend. I learned that his person was love-bombing me in the beginning to become a friend but over time she began ignoring my texts and phone calls as though she didn't want to be bothered. I am convinced that this person was more interested in dominating me than in a mutual friend relationship akin to sisters in Christ. I noticed over time that she seemed to talk all the time about herself but not listen or respond when I spoke about things in my life. It was so blatant the disinterest in me that I was shocked at the non-responsiveness. Now I realize she wanted someone who would be enamored with her but had no interest in having a mutual friendship in which she was excited about me too. For example, when she suggested something to do I was happy to do it, but when I suggested something, the same thing we did before that she suggested, she would not show any interest. This game playing of control gets old after awhile. I also noticed a lot of boasting about the things she did and the attitude that she would never need anyone else's suggestions or input. I believe God wants us to learn how to love these kinds of people anyway but realizing that they are not going to be a good friend.

1 Corinthians 10:12 I had seen miracles and was totally dedicated to God after all He had done for me. Visions, dreams prophesies that came to pass. But God knew I had other desires in my heart, I believed I'd found my Prince charming, my Boaz after a life of trials. He was a 'pastor' rushed a whirlwind romance and marriage, I minimised red flags and brushed off warnings and pleaded with God to let me marry this man. God even sent numerous messages of "name burns". I didn't heed God and married, the mask came off soon after moving in, huge mistake living with evil intent. I sought help to escape. Yet heartbroken over losing what I thought I had. God has sustained me but I'm still recovering from a costly mistake. Costly in that he almost stole my joy, my life and my integrity following the smear campaign. Trust ONLY JESUS, research narcissistic abuse, they delight in your destruction. Get away, fast.

Excellent content, Mark. Several years ago, I was drawn to a woman and pursued for a few years before she passed away. I was convinced beyond a shadow of doubt someday she'd be my wife. And honestly, because I believed God to be answering this long awaited prayer, I'd been drawing even more close to Him and in His word......I really wanted to please the Lord and show my appreciation to this answered prayer. This is what happened: 1. She became a believer in Christ before she died 2. Overcame pornography 3. Feel better equipped, as devastated as I was. Your points are absolutely spot on, Mark.
