Athena was like the only god Kratos mildly tolerates. Athena dying means Kratos has absolutely no reason to stop. If he stopped then Kratos would make her death in vain. Zeus would keep trying to kill Kratos anyways and torture his soul in the afterlife. Also it would be pretty boring if Kratos just stopped after GoW 2. Imagine tho 😂 “I’ll respect Athena. @@Lonewolf-jv5yo, because during GOW 2 story Kratos was already driven fully insane. He didn't care about anything but bloodlust. Add to this the fact that Zeus was responsible for cowardous attack and destruction of Sparta which only adds to his desire only to kill. And let's not forget that at this time Gaia manipulated his anger and determination to achieve her own goals.

@@user-ou2jh5rz5l Yeah that's true but can you figure out how Zeus found out that Hephaestus lied to him? Because sure Hephaestus marked the location of Pandora's temple on Cronos and made the layout but it Helios who you can look on wiki that built it while building the temple he slowly went insane and later killed himself and when kratos entered the temple it wasn't fully finished and Zeus should've known this and there's no way he could have put two and two together.

Actually think about it, what if Athena was a tad to late and Zeus was dead, the story would most likely have ended alot better than it actually did. Plus Athenas words seemed to reach Kratos, a bit too late, but he seems much wiser now.

Uh? Yeah, I can. It's just the truth lol. The voice actor for Zeus here is the same in GoW3. And funny enough, I was playing GoW3 yesterday and noticed this yet again. Even though it was the same voice actor, his lines felt weaker because of the script and voice *_direction._* Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite suffer from the same voice-direction problem. (MvCI had the same voice actors as MvC3, yet the lines felt kinda bland and weak in comparison).

Tippier Prawn It was the same voice actor as in the Disney Hercules, which I think is very impressive. In that movie Zeus is a loving father who likes to joke around, while here Zeus is a complete opposite yet the voice matches them perfectly in both portrayals.

Nice fact. As I remember Zeus's voice has been done by Corey Burton but in original movie of Hercules (1997) Zeus's voice has been done by Rip Torn (Hephaestus in GOW 3). Although, in Hercules series(1998-1999) Zeus's voice has been done by Corey Burton again. Maybe there are not a lot of people who can make god's voices. :D

I would like to share my experience with you guys I had with this boss: It's incredible. Definitely one of the best final bosses I've ever faced. Heck, God of War 2 IS one of my favorite games of all time. Personally I think that game had the best bosses. God of War 3 came close, but I still prefer the second game. Though don't get me wrong. God of War 3 is amazing as well! :)

Agreed! But I have a serious problem when it comes to the final puzzle. I am playing it on ps2 and somehow I always lose. Pushing those buttons gives me anxiety and I can't seem to finish this. Any tips for that?

5:08 Hold on, Kratos, you returned to the moment when Zeus betrayed and killed you and changed your fate so this means that you're back in the time when Sparta was not destroyed, the loyal Spartan soldier didn't die, the Barbarian fallen king didn't die for the second time, Perseus is still trapped in that chamber, the sisters of fate are still alive, that fat gorgon uryella or whatever didn't die, you didn't meet Atlas again, Prometheus didn't die, the Phoenix was not resurrected, the sky Kraken didn't die, Bane didn't pop his last eye, Theseus didn't crush his head because of the door at the Augean stables, Cronos didn't give you his magic, you didn't get the Golden Fleece from Jason's torn up arm that was eaten by a dog that used to have 3 heads until you cut them and Icarus didn't fall to his death... not yet anyway!!!!!!!!

If u guys remember kratos does not wanted to be the god of war , he was going to kill himself in god of war 1 but then athena didn't let him , In 7:16 what i think is : he was actually going to let zeus kill him , u can also feel the pain and depression in his voice ( he is angry and sad about what he have done to his family and just wants to die to forget , but when zeus says : i will release you from ur life my son , but your torment is just beggining , he realizes death will not bring him forgetness or calmness then he decides to kill zeus in final seccond , just look at his face and reaction when circle button appers it kinda looks like he changed his mind about dying in last seccond . ( only my opinion lol )

Odin is way more epic in a way. He's so comfortable with being a god, that he does not continually boasts with his power. He just seeks infinite knowledge, because he has the means to search for it. Unlike Zeus who just constantly brags how powerful he is. He's awesome, but annoying in a way.

This game was insane, GoW 3 was the climax because you finally killed all the gods in one game, but this game was fucking brutal, I think GoW 2 is the culmination of all Kratos' humiliations by the gods, so it's very satisfying to see his journey from hell and back to get his revenge.
