The Serpent is from the future, witnessing his dad as a child. That’s wild.

I love how the series has conditioned players to immediately see giant monsters as threats, yet this one is completely friendly.

I like how even Kratos is frightened slightly by the fact there’s a giant snake talking down to him in the first cutscene.

Even though he's massive, the scariest thing about him is how fast he moved when he attacked that giant at 8:17 , like imagine that thing coming at you that quickly

everytime the world serpent listen to Mirmir, he's look like he is judging every word Mirmir speaks. Like his grammar is wrong somewhere but he understand what Mirmir is trying to say.

"He knows the pain of your loss" So no one's gonna talk about this?

I like that Kratos was immediately ready to fight the Serpent and it’s the only time he seems actually concerned about fighting someone in this game

3:30 love how there are birds flying near to the World Serpent to give us a better sense of scale. Like, he's even farther away than he looks.

Mimir: "Aaaaaaaa woooooooo *coughs*" Kratos: "Wtf?" Jörmungandr: *giggle*

This was such a great addition to the game's story. For once something this big isn't trying to kill Kratos.

The axe says Etir Imbued, fast forward to Ragnarok and you’ll notice the wound on Thor’s stomach hasn’t healed after Kratos hits him with it during their first fight because the All Serpent imbued its venom in the axe

7:55 love how it just cuts to Baldur getting his ass beat

I had my bass on max while playing this, I had no idea it spoke. Never seen a trailer or anything The fucker shook my house. I woke up people two blocks down my streat. 10/10 Will play with max bass again

The sound design of the serpent's voice is some of the best I've ever heard in a video game. Every time the serpent spoke I got goosebumps. 10/10 game. Game of the Year!!!

Mimir calls Thor a "fat dobber" at 3:01 lmao. He was right on the money.

I absolutely love how they executed this monster. The scale is unprecedented even for God of War, and his voice reflects that. He feels so huge and ancient, like he's always been everywhere and anytime. And yet there's a somehow soothing presence about him, he doesn't come across as immediately menacing or hostile. Behind those eyes lies genuine intellect, empathy and even humanity, funnily enough. But most of all I love his speech. It feels genuinely like something completely alien and beyond comprehension, and all it took was making him sound like a foghorn on steroids, and speaking in basically just super long vowels. Simply phenomenal work.

Like how Jormungand dips his head to Mimir. Loki’s boy sure is polite. He did a good job raising him, or will do would be more accurate. I really wanted to at least see Fenrir

Its amazing that Atreus by the end of the journey seems to have learned the World Serpent's ancient tongue, one that Mimir struggles with sober.

Kratos' came full circle. He was inside his grandfather's belly and now He's inside his grandson's belly. :P

Kratos : what is he saying? Atreus : I dont know! Jormungandr : HI DAD AND GRANDFATHER! I TOOK A NAP! HERE’S YOUR AX!

After learning a lot more of these giants I’m betting he was pissed to see one of his brother’s used as a puppet.

This is what the voice of a creature this big should sound like, not just some pitched down version of some voice. This is flawless

Soon the God of Boy will start calling Jormündgandr "Boy" as well.

Funny how at 5:55 Mimir talks about the Thor statue and Jörmungandr sounds like saying: "SCREEEW HIIIM"

After Atreus called him, man got there in no time.

I get blown away every time I see Jörmungandr on this game. He’s perfectly made; everything about him matches what you might think is a part of his identity.

Atreus: “I don’t know what he’s saying!” Atreus at the end of the game: “hol up, lemme call my BOI.”

He's pretty chill for a snake

1:32 near the top right corner, it said “Eitr imbued”. Eitr is the world serpent’s poison, which according to mythology, is what killed thor. However, since kratos’s axe now has the poison imbued in it, could it be that the game is indicating that kratos will be the one to kill thor?

This game is 10/10. The fact that you can understand and feel the magnitude of it's presence, and also when it speaks, is amazing.

The pure power in his voice sends chills down my spine what a great character so glad he's in the game.

Blink and you miss it, but when Jormungand spits out Leviathan it says "Eitr imbued". Jormungand made the axe super venomous by imbueing it with his own venom. Venom that manages to kill Thor in the myth.

4:04 might be the most terrifying sight in the game, especially when you see how fast jormy can strike

The voice actor of Kratos still giving me chills 1000% perfect role.

I love how he finishes the final boss at the ending

Who else feels his voice in there room And who feels when he hissed at mimmer it was absolutely the coolest thing in the universe.

I still love how he has cute little cat ears on his head.

One of the many surprises in this game for me was how friendly the world serpent actually was. I could’ve sworn we were going to kill him at one point.

Jörmungandr is probably my favorite part of god of war, he's so cool. A giant ass snake that wraps around the entire world. I love how he has cat ears as well, it's so cute. After realizing that the serpent in Atreus' son is crazy. Jörm must've been surprised seeing his father and grandfather there in the lake. I really wanna know how Atreus is jörm's father. I envy mimir and Atreus for speaking jörm's language, I wish I could at least understand what it's saying. When baldur beat the serpent I got so scared because I thought he killed it but when he took down that giant I was so happy. I really hope jörm is in Ragnarok, it'll make my day if he is.

Serpent can move fast when he wants. That weight and velocity of him slamming into the dead giant and clamping down on his face must've been massive force.

That "Eitr imbued" text is such a genius move to link how Thor dies in the mythology and alter it for GOW

I love how Atreus' eyes glowed as he called for the world serpent, showing his giant heritage.

Fae left the note on the temple to throw the leviathan axe in the water because she knew that Jormungand would recognize it and greet them. The scene takes on a new meaning when you know that she is the one that leaves the messages.

It's really cool how scary they make the presence of the world serpent

I dunno what always stuck with me is the way kratos says, "what, is this" as if he is full of annoyance and probably at this point not even hesitant to kill or fight it, which just goes to show just how even more badass he is seeing how big the serpent is.

Atreus' eyes glowed when he summoned Jormungandr at 8:10-8:15

I went back here to know why Thor's wounds are not healing, and now i could see why (confirmed it)

God of War is a masterclass in single-shot filmmaking.

I just realized something. Jörmungandr is Atreus son. In the wiki, Jormungandr is Loki's kid. Thor knocked him through time, landing him onto the lake. Faye wanted to name him Loki. Neither Jormungandr nor Atreus knows they are directly related. That's how Atreus knows the language. Corretion: Jormugandr knows, but Atreus doesn't.

This is probably one of the prettiest depictions of Jormungandr I've seen. I love the white stone like scales and the moss growing from his chin.

I sincerely hope that Jormungandr and Fenrir join up with Kratos in the next game. If anyone has reason to help Kratos defeat the Aesir, it's those two.

A great realization that even if you look menacing and dangerous, as long as you don't immediately pissed Kratos off, you can be a good acquaintance of Kratos.
