TheOptimus1200 actually Athena is the one who manipulate Kratos to the destruction of Olympus. After Kratos killed Zeus, she would use the power from Kratos to rebuild her own kingdom. She even knew Kratos is the Mark Warrior instead of his brother Deimos in the prophecy, so she tried to protect him by letting Ares took Deimos and spared Kratos’s life.

Oh, I agree, but it just seems weird how Athena had this grand plan all along, then in the end of God of War II, after Kratos impales Athena, she tries to convince him that no son should kill his own father? Unsure if she was genuine, used reverse psychology, or the demise of Olympus was not exactly as she planned it.

TheOptimus1200 I think in actuality, she tried to stop Kratos from killing Zeus and prevent Olympus's downfall and the end of the world, but after being killed by Kratos, she became corrupted by the evils from Pandora's Box Kratos used to defeat Ares and used Kratos to kill Zeus and destroy the world so she can take over and rule in her father's place.

well, these blades specifically are the "blades of exile", the original "blades of chaos" were lost and then replaced with the "blades of athena" which later got ruined in the river of souls in GoW 3 and were then reforged into the blades they are now, the blades of exile.

yes, you are correct but they ARE the blades of chaos dont know why they didnt use the blades of exile model and improve it for this engine. It works as a nostalgia factor but lore wise it doesnt make sense.

well..weapons don't exactly make a game. slap blades of chaos on..final fantasy, and it doesn't make it a god of war game. i'll admit, god of war (ps4) looks like a good game.; heck game of the year material. but i feel like the hate for it is somewhat justified, while i also think that the game is being overhyped to shit. (almost like MGSV and dark souls 2, which nowadays are hugely panned for being kinda shit)

Vladicarus people are hating mainly the combat system which is fine especially since gow has taken a more mature level. Old combat system won't make sense anymore, there are varieties of skills & you can mix up your attacks, blocking, parrying & its even more challenging especially in harder modes. Story so far is fantastic, lot of meaningful side activities, exploration is worth it, detailed gear system & I love every single characters such as sindri, brok, mimir, freya, atreus.
