When David committed adultery with Bathsheba, he didn’t just sin against her husband. He sinned against God Himself. In this message, R.C. Sproul defends God’s justice as he considers the nature of sin and whom it violates.
This message is from Dr. Sproul’s 8-part teaching series Psalm 51. Learn more: www.ligonier.o...

Great sermon - every day we prove GK Chesterton’s point that original sin is observable, so it’s not at all unjust to hold us responsible for it when we brazenly continue in it

God created us as sinners but He also gave us a free choice. Thank You God, that we have Jesus whom David did not have.

God did not create us as sinners. He creates us perfect, pure, and holy in His Image and Likeness. But God permitted us to inherit the Original Sin of the first parents, Adam and Eve, because we are their descendants. To save the human race from this condemnation -- loss of Grace and communion with God, and death, the Word of God was made Flesh, suffered and died. Blessed and praises be God forever and ever for His Infinite Goodness, Mercy, and Love. Amen!

So, basically, if I understand correctly, God created me a sinner, and then condemned me for it. Man, that's rough.

He 'created' you a sinner? I hope you're not trying to blame God. We inherited a sin nature from Adam, who was our root. If he became sinful, and we came from him, we are born with the same sin he did. And before you say, "That's not fair", understand that you've sinned yourself, and that's the proof of where we came from! Therefore, we're sorry to God not just because we sin, but because we're sinners!! He says all of us have fallen short of His glory. The way it looks, we have no hope from the beginning. But the same as we were imputed sin from Adam, we are also imputed that righteousness we so long for. God sent His own Son to shoulder our burden! Isn't He clearly full of love and mercy?? Why focus on what we did and are if we can focus on what He did and who He is, to be so kind to us. So I urge you, take your anger and confusion and turn it into gratefulness and praise, because as dark as our situation was, Jesus is the complete opposite of our debt! If God is that serious about sin, He must also be that serious about the salvation He promises. At least ask Him humbly to help you understand. If He reveals to your heart exactly how our sin came to be, you might be heartbroken over the reality -- and then you may also be even more grateful to Jesus for accomplishing what we would say was impossible!!!
