I honestly can't imagine godzilla being a tough foe in the modern era. One of those C-RAM anti-air things pointed directly at it's face would peel it's entire head off after about 30-45 seconds(if that.... idk I'm sure some military dude will come along and shut me down in saying it'd be more like 3 seconds of direct fire) I guess that's why they always have tocexplain that his skin some super material, or he's got godly regenerative powers on top of everything. A lizard that size, breathing nuclear fire though..... really wouldn't be an issue for most countries.

It's so fucking iconic and historical. I mean I wasn't around when all those original films first came out (born 89') But when I was a kid I saw them on cable TV and was hooked to that sound effect of his old roar. The new modern roars don't do it for me the same way.

Just watched it yesterday. It was amazing. Scary. Majestic. Again, scary. Dread and despair. Don't bring your kids to the theater to avoid nightmares. Been a Godzilla fan since I was a kid, this movie brings back the feel. It's also the first Godzilla movie that made me cry. Oh, and the sound effects. Superb, just superb.

I am Japanese, so even if I hear just one word in a dialogue, I can understand the context behind it. Since this is a Japanese film, of course, Japanese people have a significant advantage in enjoying the work. However, the theme of this movie is something universal for humans. I don't think there are any barriers. I believe there is a potential for it to become a hit.

My first exposure to Godzilla was the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, where Godzilla is literally summoned to save people. Even average Joes in the street would be like "Look, it's Godzilla! He'll save us!" Watching the original movie and seeing Godzilla destroying everything and everyone in its path was an eye-opener. 😂
