Great interview yet again bro! Quick Update: Completed the Course Careers program (I do recommend) and actually got a job offer before I even graduated, just from hustling and interviewing like crazy. The blessing is that the position is a step above your basic entry level SDR position. I’m making double what I thought I would as an Account Executive. God be the glory.

I was in the medical field (Pharmacy Technician) for 15 years and I transitioned into Tech about 7 months ago as a Project Administrator role. What helped me transition was networking! My LinkedIn & resume played some parts in it but not a whole lot. Find a social group and join; it can be on social media like Facebook. Attend social events in your area. For example, Afrotech has these happy hour events where you can go and socialize with others in tech. Keep going! It's already yours!!!

I love the advice yall both confirmed in this one. I worked in banking for a few years so FinTech is high on my list eventually as the area in texh i want to grow in. You have touched on this before but I love how you both dive into the part regarding going after the FAANG companies. There are truly so many options for us all and working hard to just break into tech is the main thing to get the ball rolling it seems like. I would assume the chances of getting hired on to one of those companies go up significantly once you land your first role anyway. Everything has a process and I think our culture having little to no sense of delayed gratification plays a role in this aspect. People want what they want and want to work at these places without doing enough due diligence or having the patience to start smaller then work their way up in some cases.

Another great podcast. KEEP ‘EM COMING. Your exploration of the tech domain is exciting and insightful. I started out learning about sales engineering to sailing with you in the wide open sea of tech. It’s inspiring to see people of similar experience like Antrell working in tech, as a former bio major myself. No masters or med school. I left after my bachelor’s, BUT WE IN TECH NOW, BABY, software testing specifically. I’d love to share my story and tell folks about QA and automation in the future.

If one is more productive remotely and gets the job done regardless of what/where/when as long as the job gets done before the deadline and is submitted, I DONT SEE NOTHING WRONG🎶 it’s just that slavery mentally of employers, not everyone needs a whip over their backs to get work done. Once the job pays in abundance & one actually has purpose or simply like what they do, the job will be done regardless.

Good day Cyrus. I have been speaking with someone (recruiter) from Careerist but they only seem to have one person available to speak with. There have been two other people I spoke with and they don’t sound like there in the States. Was this your experience? I just want to make sure. Also, I asked if I could defer payments and apparently I can not. Was any of this your experience? Thank you so much and looking forward hearing from you.
