You should know that the reason their items are so cheap is because they use genetically modified ingredients in every one of their signature food items and the reason they’re such a huge list of chemicals in all of that food is because it’s genetically modified and what is called conventional food here in America if you were to buy any of those same food items as a certified organic choice, you would see that the list of ingredients is probably the same size as it would be in Europe, which is why anyone with the brain eats only organic or at least GMO free especially because they’re using us as lab rats for their science experiment they don’t even know what the long term affects of that food is and they’re testing it on the public right now so don’t be a lab rat eat clean food eat organic or at the very least GMO free .

As someone who works at Trader Joe’s, and also watched you for years (you are such a gem of a human🥰)…I agree that every country and city and town and village would be better in all measurable ways if they had a Trader Joe’s. The actual depth of consideration to humanizing and respecting both the employees and guests in our store s is beyond what our modern consumer society norms would allow. Bottom lie- Yes please. You need to go to Aldi next. It's the brother of the boss of Trader Joe's supermarket and it's not the same as in Europe. Their specialty selection items are really good and change all the time with the season. Also it's probably the best place to buy cheese and cold cuts if you miss them from Europe. The prices for those can't be beaten!

We definitely toast our bagels, even if they're not stale. There are other things you have to try! Please do more of these! The Asian frozen food is amazing (shrimp tempura, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, etc.), I love the goat cheese and caramelized onion tartlets and the ham/mushroom flatbread pizzas. The almond croissants (actually let them rise). The cheese section. The bakery. So many things!

Raphael, don't be afraid of the long list of ingredients.....the USDA makes by law every company to list any and or all ingredients that the product contains and or could "possibly contain" (like cross over peanut/nut that could be processed in the same plant) to make sure consumers know everything that could be in it. We also list things individually that other countries could list together. Yes they are scary to look at, but if you take a moment to deep dive into each ingredient, they are basic and ok to eat.

About the number of items in the ingredient list, the US requires every item listed, so for example if they use vanilla extract - every ingredient in the extract must be listed, same with spice blends. I worked in an ice cream plant and we had to list alcohol in the vanilla ice cream because of the vanilla extract.

I just came across your channel and I am so glad I did. Your reaction and commentary is so funny, and your editing is well done. I am so disappointed that I didn’t learn about the Trader Joes’s sooner, especially here in L.A. The value is unmatched! Some of my favorite things there include the fresh ravioli. There are several seasonal specialties to choose from and some are there year round, like the delicious cacio e pepe. Their salad kits are also very delicious. The BBQ and Black Pepper Toscano is my favorite so far. I also like some of their burritos. They have all kinds, including a Thanksgiving one. I love to get their frozen mango chunks for my smoothies. I was paying $8 at Ralph’s for a similar sized bag at Trader’s Joes for $2.99. I could go on and on because there are too many delicious things to name. You should pick up their Fearless Flier newspapers; it gives lots of suggestions of items to try. 💖

Rule of thumb...if it says to put it in the oven...use an air fryer, the constant air circulation in the air fryer will make it crispy by evaperating any water/ice from a frozen item. putting a frozen item in the oven, the ice crystals will melt before the oven gets hot enough to cook, letting the food item sit in water & get soggy as sometimes the batter or crust will start to absorbe the moisture.

Toast the bagels! Trader Joe's makes good Frito Scoops-like chips. They're organic and they just taste really good. Their organic tortilla chips are also really good. I also dig their frozen Indian food, especially the Korma Fish (believe it or not... I know fish sounds odd for a frozen Indian dish that is prepared in the microwave, but it's surprisingly good!). Even better than the fish korma, however, is their plain frozen naan bread. (Plain! Not the garlic variety.) Prepare it by sprinkling the frozen naan with water and throwing it in a really hot oven for 2-3 min; serve with with butter.

There is a brand new 99 Ranch which seems designed for a higher end customer in the Shops at Santa Anita. That mall is great to explore too, full of great Asian restaurants like Din Tai Fung (soup dumplings), Hai Di Lao (hot pot), Uncle Tetsu (Japanese cheesecake) etc. we also have great Japanese markets like Mitsuwa and Tokyo Central (avoid the one in Little Tokyo, it’s too small).

Where I live people tend to hate on Trader Joe’s as a sign of gentrification but the prices are lower than most local urban grocery stores

Just put some greek yogurt on top of the birria pizza and you'll get something very close to a turkish dish called iskender. The original would be much better tho, please try turkish food. I'm sure that you will like it!

Must try: chocolate chip mint ice cream*, vanilla soy cream, Japanese fried rice*, orange chicken, sesame sticks*, cinnamon graham crackers*, chocolate chip dunkers, almond biscotti, banana chips*, reduced sugar blueberry preserves*, speculoos cookie butter spread, apple cider juice*, unfiltered apple juice, after dark coffee*, cocoa truffles*, organic milk chocolate truffle bar*, tea tree shampoo and conditioner*, advent calendar for dogs. Honestly, anything that catches your attention is worth at least trying.

Apple cider a beverage like apple juice but less sweet and with cinnamon, it can be a cold drink but best warm in a mug in the fall. It’s SO yummy when you find the right brand 🍁 🍎🍏 Also really yummy with the addition of some caramel vodka!! Or just a drizzle of caramel. Must try!!!

I will say Trader Joe’s has great prices! We recently had a roommate move in and I went shopping with our combined lists and was surprised to find that I got our normal fruits/veggies/bulk items and meats and maybe 5-6 processed items that they asked for brought the bill up an additional $100. Usually the two of us spend about $250 a month, so I was amazed almost half of that was spent on just some quick to disappear packaged items. I think it depends on what region of the US you’re in too though!
