We do ours a bit differently. I love seeing these variations: it's like listening to a dialect of a language you speak. Very well done video and highly informative.

I learned Gojushiho on Okinawa in 1977. Over the years I have forgotten the moves. Although I have seen numerous versions of the kata that I’ve learned, none of them resembled the kata I first learned. That is until viewing your kata. It is not exactly the same, but there is enough similarity that I may be able to recover what I have lost over the years. I thank you for posting this video. Well done!

Fascinating, thank you. My teacher’s teacher was Kudaka Seiki, who was a student of Kyan. He did not teach me this kata, unfortunately. I must assume he didn’t learn it from Kudaka. Sadly, my teacher passed away a few years ago and I can’t ask about it. I am curious about your interpretation of the leg swing movements. Thank you!

Sensei, the very last sequence with the right shuto, left gedan barai looking movements, are these techniques or just a salutation?

what style is this? Pretty similar to the gojushiho kata I practice but I have seen lots of others that are very different.
