Videos of this nature are invaluable. As they actually show you from where real money (gold and silver) get their value. Their value that comes from the sheer amount of human labour that is required to first find, and then refine these precious metals. Keep up the hard work, Andy.

Hey you don't have to apologise Luke but thank you for taking the time to join us on this adventure. My dad , "Dad's hat" loves the day out at the creek but we both missed the dog on this trip. He was on a charity walk with all the dog walkers from our home town. My dad commented about this at our lunch break - no pooch with his nose in the rucksack lol.

It’s good to know that I’m not the only prospector that comes up empty handed for gold! Just did a 4 day trip in calif. only 3 days did I find gold. One day we tried everything on the river to find gold in a new area we hadn’t been to and came up with nothing. The river is gold bearing too! It was beautiful and we enjoyed exploring.

If you want to find gold, go to areas that are rich in iron/iron dioxide (reddish hue / rust coloured) or sulphur dioxide (orangish hue and smelly) .. those places generally have the most gold to be found..

Yes it was and the geology suggested that gold could be there with the copper mine being nearby. The mudstone/siltstone carries gold on other rivers.

Every river I visit tends to have a private fishing notice along it's course. most local authorities don't like overnight camping or parking in the carparks and they do check for this. As for prospecting I tend to get keen on lookers asking questions about the hobby. Thanks for the comments and enjoy the great out doors.

It will down to many factors Robert. People hunting and missing the target, like you said, simply shooting at the water, or from the corpses of animals. Also anything heavy like lead will want to move to the lowest point from naturally occurring events

I don't look at the value of the gold versus the outlay and cost to do a trip out but this is a good question. I love making the videos and I do that as an enthusiast and as a hobby. If it was possible to make it pay I reckon you would be knackered after a couple of years because it's really physically hard work.

I would always advise that you seek permission from the land owner Marco, or if not just be discreet, out of site and out of mind from people.

Good video i do panning in spain do you have to get permision in uk to pan metal detecting in spain is a no go area even if you get permision to detect on somons land the have to give you a copy of thair deeds and the you have to take it so it can be confirmed it is no a historic parcel of land

Hello Mike strictly speaking you should always seek permission to prospect and if you ask farmers for permission to detect on their land you can agree what the boundaries are and how you would share the finds and declare anything that comes into the appropriate category to pass on to authorities.Thanks for watching. @@ruthparkes7896 I'm not too familiar with detectors Ruth but anything at this kind of money will be pretty good. The GM1000 can find very tiny gold though. I will make a video with it using some small pickers soon. As for the other place I need to get a bit more over towards Bootle.

I couldn't give too much away but try around Saddleback. There a few reports on line if you do your research. Ralph Henderson did a lot of prospecting in the lakes but I don't know where. This spot was near Copper mines and it looked good but i never found any

In metal detecting there are some laws on the age and historical importance so if you find a gold Roman hoard you will have to declare it. As for gold panning it's just a bit of fun and there's nowt here worth bothering about. , the specs you find are nice but you can't see em half the time. There are some places where you can get a permit for the day.

@@haggaimulenga2738 gold panning in some locations is permitted with a permit for a day or a week etc .Other places seem to be known for gold panning and everything seems to be ok by the authorities. Metal detecting is usually based on an agreement with the land owner, ie a farmer for permission. Anything of any value or importance needs to shared as per the agreement and also the appropriate agencies will need to be informed of any juicy finds. There are some grey areas with panning too.
