Golden Gate Canyon - Panorama Point to Frazer Meadow

Golden Gate Canyon, just outside of Denver and to the west of Golden, is one of Colorado's wonderful state parks. Best visited in the fall when the aspen tree leaves are turning gold and the temperatures are mild, but any time of year is good here. We were looking for a nice relaxing destination, 7 - 10 mile trail and decided upon the Mule Deer trail from Panorama Point to Frazer Meadow. Super relaxing and a mild graded trail that takes you through a mix of wooded areas, meadows and occasional views through the trees.

Like Staunton, Golden Gate Canyon is a great local state park to head to when you don't have much time but need to get out for a few. It's much much better when the aspen leaves are still on the trees and fluttering in the wind. What's your next hike?

Definitely a great spot to homestead, much harder in his day, but quite the setting none the less. Frazer Meadow is always a great hike, any trail in Golden Gate Canyon that takes you there.

Hiked there last week (nov 18th)and the spring was frozen. There was a garbage can with a locked lid. Everything was frozen and I couldn’t find any running water. I asked the ranger later and he said there was a pvc pipe running from it but i didn’t see it. Did i miss something? Did you hike up to the shelter? I did have lunch there. Thanks for suggesting this trail ! I want to return and do the entire mule deer trail! We rented a cabin at Reverends Ridge and were the only people there on the second day/night. Again, thanks, I enjoy your videos!

Thank you! The cabin sounds great. Frazer Meadow is great in any season, definitely a great area and trail system. The spring is running from a small pvc pipe, it was definitely there and running when we were there. There is a small trail with a sign pointing the way to the spring. It is not far at all off the main trail in the meadow. The pipe is visible on the left side of the trail. Have fun on your next trip there, let us know how it goes.

@@susanmyrawills all the more reason to go back and solve a mystery, bonus, you get to get out and hike some more of Golden Gate Canyon. 😎
