@DoorSlammersPlus You will want to go past Bruno Gulch Rd. Head thru the Duck Creek Picnic Area, towards the Shelf Lake Trailhead along RD 119 / 1038. This is a rough dirt road that deteriorates the further you go towards Shelf Creek TH and the Iron Fens. Camping is all along this road, and each of the free dispersed campsites is clearly marked. Geneva Creek runs fairly close to the road. Enjoy, great area!

Did you go further to Breckenridge Peak? If so what was that hike like?

@rosiealvarado764 We did not head over to Breckenridge Peak on this hike. We were out on a good pack shake down just prior to our Colorado Trail thru hike. Flora and Mines are great high country hikes, assumably Breckenridge is too!

I’m shooting for 50 miles on my 50th this coming Friday. Pinery Loop Trail, Cherry Creek Trail, East/West Regional(with a side trail up the Parker Incline), Highline Canal Trail to Waterton with a return back to Highlands Ranch for a much needed pick up from my son. Wish me luck!

I've been seeing a lot of stories that the Denver Union Station is not safe. One news reporter was attacked and another interviewed a security guard there who said to stay out of the bathrooms because at any one time there are between 15-20 guys in there doing drugs and sexual acts on one another. And also said to use the stairs instead of the elevator. What was your experience at union station?

We live in Denver. Unfortunately, like many other major cities, it is a sad state of affairs in very busy areas like Union Station. That said, always be vigilant, keeping your eyes and ears open and paying attention to all that is around you. The train from the airport is still a great option to get to and from trail, outside of the negatives of the "big city" environment. If you're taking on the CT, there are plenty of trail angels that can help as well.
