Not sure where was pass going or just a clearing attempt. To be fair he didn’t make it easy on mark stone to get the puck there. Just was incredible hand eye by Mark Stone, and (In my opinion) a brutal decision after review by refs and/or Toronto situation room whoever has final say.

@@jeffreycairns767 really. Wow I thought they were always talking with people in Toronto just didn’t know who had final say. In Vegas? did they ask one of the fans decked out in golden knights gear? Lol just playing but I just thought it was pretty clearly a high stick. I’m a wings fan if my team scored that exact goal im totally thinking it’s gonna come back, regardless of any bias hoping it’s good. I feel that Florida got robbed on that, not that they would’ve won if it went their way, but i guess it could’ve. It definitely changed the game as Florida likely doesn’t take those frustration penalties with 4:24 left and maybe they score to tie it in that scenario. Not even defending FLA though, because that was still so stupid of them to get penalties with 4:24 left down only 2 goals. Although they didn’t have great odds of getting 2, 4:24 is so much time to overcome 2 goals. If they could even just get 1 in the next 3 mins now they would’ve had a minute and a half with the goalie out and pucks being thrown on net you never know. Down 3, ya go for it, forget winning the game just win the fight. But down 2, until you get into at least the final minute that’s sooo stupid of panthers to take those penalties.

He isn't standing straight up so it looks high, but the rule is by if he is standing straight up. Thats a good goal.

@@jonnysnipes3123 section 6 rule 621 "High Sticking is the action where a player carries the stick above the normal height of the opponent’s shoulders and makes contact with the opponent." Key word in this rule is "NORMAL" height. Stone was heavily leaned, his stick did not extend above the normal height of his shoulder, per the conclusion of the refs and the reviewers. This was not high sticking. Review the actual rule next time you make a comment like this.

I absolutely love that it was Tkachuk who gave the puck away on that goal. And then he let his frustration boil over and got tossed. Go take a post game adderral bump and chew on that mouth guard alone in the shower!

The “he’s leaning” concept is asinine. It assumes if he were fully upright his angle of stick would be the same… take the picture of the play and then correct the angle to see where the blade of the stick is… it’s above the shoulder. Simple stuff. No goal.

If you put the speed at 0.25 playback and play the time of 0:28 Tkachuk actually doesn't try to flip the puck out. the puck is rolling and it flutters on him. he tries making a pass. Incredible play by Stone. unclear if it was a high stick in my opinion so that's a good goal all day.

Dude his knee was bent and he was leaning. And he reached out parallel at shoulder height, if he was standing up he'd be way below shoulder height. Florida has gotten away with worse like checking Canes goalie on shot attempts

Yea of course you pick the one with the worst angle lol. 1:21 shows it clear and it’s just about even with his shoulder even leaning over. If he was standing straight up it’d be clearly below

@Joey Drummer it touched the tip of his stick at 1:21 the tip of his stick is inches above his head. His shoulder is in line with the bottom of the SAP blue advert. Puck was in the SAP letters Even from your handpicked angle it's obvious. Above the head leaning = above shoulders straight up

High sticking is a weird rule in all cases. The point is to keep players from waving it around at the face level of other players, but players are all different heights. The shortest guys in the league are going to be in danger from a 6 foot 8 guy like Elmer Soderblom raising his stick to waist level.

No the point of high stick is so you can’t swirl the puck on your blade and wrap it over in side the net from behind the goalie like a lacrosse type goal. Let’s say I’m behind the net of my opponent. If high stick didn’t exist I would have lifted the puck with my blade and just put it over the water bottle behind the goalies head and In the net. You know how unfair that would be

Nice to see the situation room "put the whistle away" so that "the boys can play" during a super critical moment in the game. I just love playoff hockey, where there are no rules (except you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT shoot the puck from your zone into the stands, that is a most heinous offense and you will be penalized).

It wasn't a high stick, Stone was leaning over, but if he was standing straight up the puck would've been below his shoulders, and the regular height of his shoulders is the measuring point. Good goal

And it's not an assumption, the puck was level with his shoulders when he was leaning over, meaning if he was standing upright the puck would've been below his shoulders. This is 100% a good goal

If the blade of your stick is above your shoulders when you knock down the puck, it's a high stick. Should have been no goal.
