GoldenEye was the first 007 movie I went to see on the big screen back when it was first released in '95 and I would have been around 14 at the time. It was also the first time I had been to a movie in which I experienced and joined in with an audience reaction to something seen. Up to this point all of my movie experiences had just been sit down and watch and enjoy, but when Bond goes into freefall and catches up with the plane and pulls himself onboard, myself and the entire cinema audience made audible reactions at the ridiculousness of it... but at the end of the day he's Bond so its cool. ;)
@tashadent150
@tashadent150 2 жыл бұрын
I remember too, I was 13, it was the first time, I was allowed to go by myself. I was already a huge Bond fan already and when I heard the theme song, and saw Pierece walking out and then the firing of the bullet through the gun I got goosebumps. And when I saw that bungee jump, I got chills and hearing the banter between him and Dame Judi Dench was the comedic icing on the cake.
@robparker1227
@robparker1227 2 жыл бұрын
Yep Alan, it was exactly the same when I saw this aged 12. The whole cinema groaned at the cheesiness when they realised he was going to fall into the plane and fly it away. Many of the audience would have been wowed by the Spy Who Loved Me parachute jump, to which this scene was an obvious homage.
@calebcooper3131
@calebcooper3131 2 жыл бұрын
While this was cheesy, and the editing didn't help it feel very real, the stuntman who performed the initial jump from the bike did actually do the entire stunt and made it to the plane and climbed aboard. The movie really should have had the full clip of him actually doing the stunt, as that would have been much more epic.
