During the filming of Diamonds are Forever, there is a scene where James Bond walks thru a cemetery. One day while watching the film with my son, he recognized that is where my parents are buried today. James Bond walks right in front of their resting place, today many years later. I thought I'll be damn my folks are in a James Bond movie.😊

This story covers many details of his life & career that I, being a fan since the 60's, did not know. It's only towards the end that some 'truths' are acknowledged, but in no way condemn or shame Sean! I agree, those with questionable behaviours and those benefiting from being in the limelight should be held accountable. So, let's begin with those who contribute least yet benefit most; our Politicians, Bureaucrats, Activists, and Lobbyists. Once all those have been dealt with, then I'll start concerning myself over rumours and hearsay about those no longer around to defend themselves.

As a young American, I loved the first Bond films. And was not the only one, I soon discovered. I would meet with fellow fans and we tried to dress like Bond. I even tried vodka martinis but found myself walking into walls. I found out that Sean Connery was the tallest James Bond and that those actors who followed him were shorter and shorter. I miss his acting in other films as he seemed to “make” each one.

He complemented the sixties well. As Bond he was the essence of masculinity, something deliberately erased from the modern world. You could believe his malice, and therefore his ability to kill for the secret service, and the women of the time appreciated his overt masculinity and his ability to fight for them, not to forget the implication of being a satisfactory lover. Goldfinger showed that when he turned Pussy Galore back to the home team and saved the world. He arrived at the right time, reassuring Britain that despite American power, Bond could be counted on for Britain. He fitted in with the emergence of the sexual revolution, a media exercise to countenance the idea of a sex life without prejudice from (British) society, although I believe the idea of reassuring recreational sex for both sexes began after women’s suffrage and became more common during the blitz and idea of unforeseen death everyone felt during the second World War. When you hear of thirty or forty year old virgins now, with young men repressed by society, and the emergence of “incel” culture, it makes me weep.

I agree with this completely. The next Bond should be more like Connery's Bond and save the world from woke, bullshit. I mean, we have Archer, which is bloody hilarious; agreed, it's an animated and completely exaggerated parody of Bond, but why can't the next Bond be a version of that but watered down by 50%? 🤔 Although I love Roger Moore's version just because they were the movies my dad took us to see when I was younger, in the late 70's and 80's, Timothy Dalton's version was the next best to Connery's and actually the closest to Flemming's literary version. I agree with the others on here who say, stop over analysing Connery's life. He was a human, a man who had faults as we all do. But he clearly did a LOT to help humanity. He was a true hero. RIP Sean, we love you.

It amazes me every time you get a loved actor who's successful in. There's always things brought up after they've died and left us to make him look bad and I don't like it. And I never have liked. I thought Sean Connery was a very good actor in James Bond. And now the only James Bond films that I do watch because the rest of them that are done in recent years with Daniel Craig. Yeah, you can forget the sunny violence. There's no story to it. There's no action to it and another film that you forgot to mention about. Sean Connery was the film where he played a medicine man. And he found the Cure for cand that was A. Very loved film Connery.I thought he is a very good person in his action. And I wish his family all the best. And I hope he rests is in peace.Thank you

The only actor who fit the description of the Bond in Flemming's novels was Sean Connery, which leads me to think Connery must have read Flemming's novels to get that role down so precise, even down to the slightest gesture like lighting a cigarette. Every Bond novel I read after watching Dr. No, I couldn't get a picture of anyone except Connery as Bond.

I saw no dark secrets! I'm relieved to find the rumor of him going queer in his old age were a baseless attack. Seems like hollywood loves to take all our hero's and real men role models and pervert them. Making sure they all have roles dressing in drag. I will always be a fan, his roles were part of my entire life. I don't idolize any human, some I just don't forget.

I lived my teenage years watching 007 movies with Sean as James. No other actor came close until Daniel Craig. But my favorite movie was "Wind and the Lion" was quite a different role, but Sean did a magnificent job. As he did in all of his movies. God bless him, and the world is a better place for him, having been here. Thank you

Young boys need a hero, and Sean's characters were great examples. Sean Connery was my first big man crush, and Sean will remain forever "the man" until the day I die.

Male chauvinist attitude. Shame.no matter how wonderful your talent is, there's no excuse for lack of respect for others. Walk away if you don't like the situation.

To err is to be human, let’s us not forget that the last person that was perfect, that walked this planet, was nailed to a wooden Cross with iron nails. Let’s celebrate the positive and remember the philanthropy, humbleness and stoicism of the man that brought such joy and happiness to so many through his performing arts and private personal touches.

I have heard that Connery was the first choice to play Gandalf in Peter Jackson's, ' LOTR's ', films, but turned it down to make, " League of Extraordinary Gentlemen '. Can anyone confirm this?

The man was the epitome of masculinity, very much a mans man, he had it all, physic, looks, personality and he has by far been the best James Bond to date, ive watched many of his movies and hes been a credit to the profession, as a 70's kid every Xmas all the Bond movies would be shown and i cant tell you how many times as a 6 year old i sat in the back of my mums little mini pretending i could eject my horrible older sister who sat in the front and annoyed me cus i was too small, it was safer in the back apparently, these were the days when cars had no seat belts in the back lol i look back now and its crazy that its took decades for it to be a legal requirement! Connery was by far a fantastic actor and enjoyed the lady's, was he perfect? Nope, should he have lifted his hand? Nope! The world is a very different place some say for the better some not so much but my take away from this is if you can't speak well of the dead then say nothing!
