If you are wanting to plate a bumper, wheels, emblems or just a large chrome item - this is how you do it. This video covers the most common mistakes people make. Not removing all the chrome is the #1 mistake. Not blending the two areas correctly is the #2 biggest mistake. Can you tell me what the current setting should be? I see the 7 and 5 volts but is it really zero amps? I'm using your brush and chemical supplies on golf clubs at home with a DC power supply.

Nice Job, very interesting and informative, if I want Gold Plate over SILVER coins, how to proceed, do I need clean and activate it or not?

The activator solution they sell also degreases and cleans the item so I would recommend you activate first then rinse with Distilled water and then you should be able to go direct into your gold with no problem

We have hundreds of customers who use this very kit to do bumpers, grills, really everything on automobiles. People find that using larger brushes has more waste and it is preferred to use the large woolley sleeves. Hi. Iam going to start a hobby- business in plating. What rig do you suggest for knives guns and tools not cheapest but something for a good start.

If you're never going to be plating onto chrome plated items, I would recommend the standard Universal Plater Kit (Option 2 on the dropdown) that comes with Woods Nickel Strike. There is no other less expensive option for what you want to do and it is a wonderful kit. www.goldplating.com/products/universal

Idk if they still respond to questions and maybe someone can answer this; I've watched alot of these videos and in all of them, when you talk about using the surface activator you always say "do it really quickly, don't spend alot of time using it, you just do a quick strike and rinse it off" This seems like a important note because you always state that but you have never explained why or what would happen if someone spent too much time striking it or using the nickle activator in excess or if they failed to rinse off in time. Can someone please explain?

A short answer without getting to complicated is that it can cause a cloudiness in your final product and it can look bad.

Yes, you can plate items of virtually any size with enough chemicals.

These issue i been having is when I leave a buffer zone... they activator dries up and leaves a white stain...what could be the issue? Loving the machine

If i'm imagining what is happening correctly, I believe the best answer would be to do smaller sections. If it has enough time to dry, you're doing too large of sections or spending too much time activating. Where does the white stain show up and and what point in the process? Its possible its not the activator causing the issue.

Gold Plating Services the stain shows up in my buffer zone... do u think i might be taking to long in the gold step which causes the activator to dry up and leave stains?. Thank u

@@Hardtops_vs_verts Spray more Distilled water on the object to take off all the stripping solution prior to the next steps. Keep the object wet. if you let it dry you end up with sploches. use the drying as a gauge to move faster in your plating process. Hope that helps

Exactly the same, as long as the surface is chrome what is underneath is not important.

You can gold plate on plastics by using a conductive copper spray paint or a conductive graphite paint (im working on one if interested lmk) The graphite goes into a flash copper solution, then an acid copper, then a nickel (or silver) and then your gold plate

Can you can on the next video, show us on the real mistake on some item with the lines or doing a big area and let see the results... even as you mention on the video’s.. on how people brought your product and how they sent you there items, I would like to see the mistakes being fixed ... I am interested in your product and waiting for your reply in the email I sent you..
