Dude my golf game has improved so much because of your tutorials. I went down from 17 hc to 8 hc watching most of your videos. And not to sound gay or anything but your choice of golf apparel is pretty mature and appealing. I like how you dress for golf. No loud colors or anything outrageous. Keep up the good work Eric 👍

Great!!!!Thank You!!! This was a game changer! I am 64 years old, and my flexibility (turn, speed) all effected by aging, were declining. I always had a strong lead hand, but kept a neutral back hand grip. I could no longer get through the ball, and everything I hit was either hit right, or pulled left (Over Compensating!) I tried both hands being in the strong position. It made me hit the ball like I did 20 years ago! I now have the distance, that I once had with my clubs. I have always used Ben Hogan, as a mentor, and facilitator, to correct my swing when my game was off. He did all that, but my distance was diminishing. I thank you, for this video, and teaching session. It just goes to show, sometimes, we need to: Think outside the box! Thanks, I can play from the "White tees again," and not from the Seniors, to play par golf!

love this. grip checking is so underrated. especially mid to late rd. I bumped into the legend Mac o Grady on the range yesterday and the first thing he did was address my grip. he pointed out that my lead hand/wrist was cupping at the top bc the handle was too much in the palms of my hand with a short thumb. cupping the wrist at the top was the result of a "false hinging". I was amazed how he could hit high fades with a club face that was 35 degrees closed! proper hinging of wrists allows more speed and consistency!

Hi Eric. Thanks. It's very good. I can feel the power and firmess according to the left hand fingers positions that you showed in your Perfect Golf Grip. However, it appeared to be a bit different from what was shown in Ben Hogan's book which showed the shaft to be more in the left palm instead of fingers knucks. It works better for me with your Perfect Golf Grip.

Interesting option for the lead hand. Having the shaft straight at the base of the fingers. Most instruction has the grip run from the base of your pinky finger to the middle of the pointer (trigger) finger. Are there any videos covering this point and how it impacts your shot?

Due to anatomy thick bones and muscles in my fingers the only way I can comfortably grip the club is with a strong right hand grip. Can you talk about how wrist angles would change with a strong right hand grip. I struggle the most getting the club on plane at 1st parallel on the way back. I'm flat. Keep doing great work

Eric, with the 3 knuckle grip what is the release pattern like? Is there any knuckling down through impact? Does the right forearm roll over the left? This is my grip and I feel it’s between a strong and neutral grip which there isn’t a ton of content on aside from your page. Thx

Would the grip, whether neutral, weak or strong, dictate how a player releases the club? Maybe a weaker grip requires more forearm rotation or a strong grip would require more body rotation?

I switched to a baseball grip (still neutral) a few years back, but now seem to be fighting too much of a draw. Going back to a neutral overlap grip seems to be helping. Does this make sense? Or is it all in my head? Lol...

What is the reasoning behind the V's being square? If I reached out and grabbed the club in a natural way, the V's would not be parallel. Left hand would point toward the left shoulder and the right would point toward the right shoulder. Never tried this. lol
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 4 жыл бұрын
If your left hand is at your left shoulder you need to do more to get face square. Def doable but more difficult. Talked about the effects of grip more here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZ1naa-q27OagJc.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ot6pf8t1uMW5ooE.html

I don’t know why but I just cannot play with a neutral right hand grip. My wrist just won’t flex properly in the backswing and I feel it restricts how much rotation and power I get. Neutral right hand only feels comfortable if I allow the wrist to move in more of a radial deviation direction which you teach as incorrect (and can cause me to slice). I feel so much more comfortable with a neutral left hand but a stronger right hand. I get nice, straight shots with no fade or draw in the flight. It does give me some loft problems, though. Specifically, I have a bad habit of topping the ball.
