Gryfflet has been gloating over the smouldering carcass of the Witch-king, so he is ready to fight through the battlefield while scouting things out. He bumps into the Riders Three again, who want him to plant their dead fellow's spear near to where King Théoden fell: Gryfflet appreciates the symbolism as he continues his progress. He makes contact with Bregdal, who has been giving us quests, then plants the spear before talking to Elfhelm who has lost his son in the fray. There is a sudden commotion in the distance but Horn is conveniently placed to enlighten us; his father Ingbert is as sympathetic as we have come to expect. They pass us along to Forlong and Hirluin for more information. We return to Ingbert who has a task for us, but first we check back with the Riders Three who have teamed up with Reeve Fastred in pursuit of the wicked Crúmgam. We follow them into an Instance wherein they show uncommon good sense which sadly takes them only so far: Fastred falls to Crúmgam but at least we are able to defeat his lackey Brodwulf who killed the fourth Rider. Returning to Ingbert whose task involves yet another Instance in which we meet Duilin and Derufin who have been killing Mûmakil. They volunteer to deal with another that is blocking our path but sadly succumb. We plunge on, pausing to help Prince Imrahil who is beset, then accompanying him to the Hillock to rendezvous with Éomer. In our path is Orolang, a wraith who has some interesting news with which he taunts us to no avail. We reach Bregdal who has our next assignment but we defer it for the sake of doing the chronology correctly. Éomer sends us to help some nearby Gondorians, but we are too late to help Forlong save his friend Hirluin. We scout the area and return to Éomer who has spotted the arrival of the black ships: we consider telling him about Aragorn's venture but decide not in case something slipped. We quickly defeat some nearby enemies, then some more, then even more again after which we return to Éomer whose spirits are lifted by the revelation of Aragorn's arrival. This is our cue to follow Bregdal's latest directions, so we arrive on the Quays of the Harlond to help Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and the remaining Black Company to secure their path through to the battlefield. At a suitable point we split the party: Aragorn leads a charge through to the Pelennor while Gryfflet is tasked with unblocking a gate for the rest of the army to use. Some confusion ensues as Gryfflet's stealthy progress means that our intended opponents fail to show up, so he starts slaughtering enemies until the way is cleared. The Forsaken Reaver, one of the Nazgul. taunts us a bit then hands us to a gang of Trolls who don't last long before we meet Aragorn outside the gates. He sends Gryfflet with Halbarad and Gimli to clear some Orcs, and some more Trolls, then they send us to help Legolas with a Mûmak. He is also aided by Elladan and Elrohir, so together we make quick work of the Mûmak. They send us to clear a bridge across a small river. where we just happen to bump into the Forsaken Reaver who thinks to take advantage of a lone Hobbit but has not reckoned with Gryfflet being massively over-levelled! We are just in time to witness the rendezvous between Aragorn and Éomer which means that we are able to finish the Instance in time for the scheduled end of the session. We report to Bregdal and make plans to meet at a nearby farm for the next stage.

We considered the Witch-king's crown, the crimes of Beregond, and the clever way that the game has adapted and combined the tales of Eärnur and Gothmog, but mostly we continued the trend of enjoying the flow of the story.
