When Chip hired Kyle Larson to drive the 42 car full time in 2014, I was thinking "what the heck are you doing. He has completed 1 season in the Xfinity Series." He made me eat my own words during his rookie season

2020 is going to be hell for Larson

I've been a Larson fan since he came into NASCAR in 2012 and I was at that race when Kyle Larson scored his first Cup race at Michigan in 2016 and I believe he would have been in the final 4 if it wasn't for what happened to him at Kansas last season

Had to wait until 2021, but he finally got his good team.

I was at Fontana this year and 2017 to be honest seeing Larson win and this year come in second despite what happened with Harvick proves he has potential.

Larson and Truex were the class of the field in 2017, but the 42 team had 4 straight DNFs in the playoffs (2 of which were due to engines) that quickly dropped them out of title contention.

Chase Elliott’s good seasons: 2018 He has a shot to win the championship and be one of the first new drivers to win it. Kyle Larson is not leaving Chip Ganassi because he is staying loyal to him. He is staying loyal to the guy that gave him this opportunity to race in the cup series. Kyle Larson is the 2nd best driver to run Hendrick motors this season. They will get things clicking soon.

i think larson should just stick with chip ganassi. he brings alot of money to the team with his consistent top 5's and 10's, all chip has to do is drop mcmurray and pick up a good veteran or up and coming rookie, a.e. matt kenseth if he leaves roush next year, kasey kahne, todd gilliland, etc also, Good Seasons: Kasey Kahne 2006 (if you haven't already made it)

Imagine if he hadn't gotten fucked over by the playoffs... I imagine an epic showdown between him and Truex.

In 1996 Jeff Gordon had 10 wins 21 top 5's 24 top 10's average finish of 9.5 and finished 2nd in the standings but losing the championship to Terry Labonte by 34 points.

I was amazed at how good he was on the big fast tracks coming from dirt background. Him and Kyle Busch are the best I have ever seen on restarts.

One of my dads good friends cousins is his tire guy. I'm hopefully going to get to meet him and get a 1 on 1 with him!!

Conspiracionist me will always belive Hendrick gave him shitty engines at the end of the season to avoid embarassing them and winning the title while they had no shot at it (and he would have been a strong contender, despite Toyotas being superior, he runs extremely well at Homestead) since Chevy teams aren't like Toyota or even Ford teams who share lots of stuff. FRR is basically JGR 5th car and all Ford teams share the same engine builder, so there is communication even between rivals like Penske and SHR, while on the Chevy camp you only see it between RCR teams, but RCR has long been about sacrificing speed for reliability, which is why RPM hasn't gained anything from last season and FRR decided to switch to Toyota to make the big leap forward and establish itself as a top team, even though they had some good seasons under Chevy like 2013 with Kurt and 2015 with Truex reaching the final four. SHR itself noticed it too, with the #1 Ford team spot left open by Roush's decline (Penske had been Ford's de facto #1 team but they weren't a large operation, fielded only 2 cars prior to 2018) they decided they didn't want to play second fiddle to Hendrick and also switched manufactures. Ganassi stayed and have hit a wall, Larson being an elite talent is the only thing saving them. Instead we got Jimmie wasting a round of 8 spot while pundits kept talking about how he was going to turn his season around because he is a seven time champion despite showing no speed all year, what a shame. And Chevy got shutout from the final 4.

Ganassi can win Larson a title. The cars are competitive, use the Hendrick engines, and it showed. McMurray won the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 for Ganassi in 2010. Since then, the cars have remained top tier. Montoya wasn’t a skilled oval driver. McMurray suffers from inconsistency, as he’ll get two top 5s and then disappear for three races. Larson has had bad luck to begin the year, but look at Newman. He finished 2nd to Harvick in 2015 after an unspectacular season. Larson and Ganassi are great fits for each other. Just wish target could have stayed on the hood.
