Thank you for today's vlog. My 3 good things this past week are having so many light-hearted conversations with my friends and family, I did the laundry and the dishes, and I revised my resume to send it out next week to find jobs after I graduate this December.

Congrats on your upcoming graduation! I was a December graduate too, and it can be an advantage coming into the job market at a different time than all the rest of the graduates. Good luck with your search! Laundry and dishes are such a slog, well done on that. And those light-hearted conversations are so good for your overall mental health, you’re right to celebrate them! Sending you love and more good things.

3 good things: • my cat has been very chatty and playful lately. she is an instant dose of joy 🥰 • i’m on week 4 of keeping a schedule! i usually give up by week 3, but this time, i’m being very forgiving and gentle on myself. • guacamole On a serious note, I’ve never heard anyone talk about anticipatory grief. I know there’s nothing anyone can say to soothe that pain. It’s beyond words. All I can offer is thanks for your courage to share. I’ve been experiencing a different type of grief, one that no one around me understands. But we’re not alone. Sending all the love from 10,000 miles away ❤️❤️❤️

What fun things to celebrate this week. #3 made me laugh aloud. Guac is definitely a good thing! 🥑 Grief is something that’s omnipresent in my life right now, but I rarely talk about it here because I’m still on such uneven footing with it. I don’t always wait until I’ve fully processed something to talk about it, but I have to know where to start, and I’m barely there when it comes to working through grief. Whatever you’re experiencing, I’m sending you love. Sometimes that’s all we can do.

Jenn, i have no words for what you must be going through. I watched Rod Gilbert"s cancer treatment journey on tv a few days ago & it was really hard to see such suffering. I'm glad you are blessed with such good & kind in-laws - mine were just awful & never accepted me as their son's wife. My husband's mother hated me for taking her 'little boy' away from her, & hated me even more for having the daughter she always wanted & blamed her husband for not giving her (he actually told me that). He became the weak enaabler. Her other son believed all her lies&manipulation so he turned out as bad as her. She never allowed him to have a life of his own so he's still a bachelor at 61 & still lives in the house where he was born - she kept him strapped to her till the day she died, making up illnesses for him, which he actually believed, & even sleeping with him, bathing him, etc., convincing him she was the only woman he needed in his life. Truly tragic. But at least we're free of all of them now (BIL want's nothing to do with us, which is fine, it's just a shame he couldn't see i was always on his side. I had a few teiggers this week which sent me into an emotional spiral but have been able to pjll myself back - sometimes just moment by moment. My good things this week are i had a lovely text from an old friend i rarely hear from - it was really uplifting. I was able to finish a project & got it all on the auction site, including a bespoke order. A very busy four days, so now it's time to shower, relax, & just slow down for a few days.

I didn’t realize Rhod Gilbert had been diagnosed with cancer. We are big fans of Taskmaster and he was one of my favorite contestants. Your in-laws sound so difficult and I’m sorry that’s been your experience, especially in light of your own family trauma. I’m glad you were able to find some lights this week and I’d add that taking the time you need for self-care and relaxation is also a good thing!
