Loved the video and your ingenuity with finding out-of-the box solutions like repurposing the empty canisters, which somehow you make fit perfectly. Really clever and inspirational! Nice to see you rearranging your workspace for a clear mind to proceed with the many cool projects to come. Thanks Adrian!

YO ADRIAN!!! (I always wanted to say that 😆) Thanks for the mention at the end, Jered and I appreciate it! By the way this is the best miter station build I’ve seen in a long time. Way better than Lincoln Street lol

I love your dust hood design. I have the same Dewalt miter saw and like everything about it except how much space it takes.

Thank you! It was a really hard decision to sell it, it was such a good saw. But the space I gained was worth it for me.

@adrianwoodworm I love your organizational skills. By the way, did I miss any videos? Are you still building your houseboat or did you complete it? If you did finish it, I'd love to see it on the water. A future video idea. 😉

@@erikbrush no you didn't miss anything. This spring I decided to put a hold on the boat building and finally deal with my enormous mess in the garage and to improve my workspace in general. I need to get my shop under control before I can continue. It just takes a while to do that since we run a farmers market garden on the side and I still work multible side jobs to stay afloat financially. I might not be able to get back to the boat before the fall, we will see. I promise I will upload a video as soon as I am back at it!

First time watching....now subscribed! Really like your 'floating' idea. I am actually in the process of building a mitre station as well (have the same dewalt saw but not in a position to switch it out). Was planning to do the traditional base cabinet idea but after seeing your approach and all the usable storage room below, I believe I will try to incorporate this into my plans. Room to store tools on rolling bases. Some great ideas here! Thanks!

Huge thanks for your support!!! In my opinion the floating workbench offers you the most flexibility when it comes to how you utilize the space below. Best of luck with your mitersaw station project!

I have the same dewalt, miter saw and basically the same slap together miter saw station and dust collection issues! I used a reclaimed dining table for the top. And used the sliding/extending mechanism found on the bottom of the dining table as my fence/stop block system. I have the Bosch at work and yes, it’s awesome! You definitely now have a much better set up now!

Cool idea to use the sliding system of the dining table as stop block system, very creative, I love it!

@@adrianwoodworm Thanks man! I also kept some longer pieces that can slide all the way to the saw blade if I need to make small, repetitive cuts. I just switch them out when needed.

Using the laminate flooring as a top surface was ingenious, especially as the T track fits so well. As for the duct multiport, Katz Moses had a 4” version in a video recently, but yours with the magnets and shop vac sized ports is a great idea! I recently tried the Trend hood and found it too top heavy and loud - what’s your thoughts on the version you showed here?

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the video! The powercap active definitely has its flaws: -Overpriced for what it is, including the spare parts such as filters (I just ordered two spare filter sets, after shipping I had to pay $175 canadian!!) -if you stand straight and look at something at eye hight, I found the top edge of the visor hangs too low and is in my vision. (Most of the time I look down on the object I am working on, so it is not that big of a deal and I got used to it) -the way the battery clips onto the cap is a bit flimsy and the stitching broke. I had to use a small bolt to fix it. On a positive note, here is what I like: -The battery lasts very long, a full day of work is no problem. -it is very comfortable and it won't bother you after many hours of work. Noise is in my opinion on an acceptable level (I wear hearing protection most of the time anyways.)

@@adrianwoodworm hmm ok so similar fitting issues in the Trend. The Trend direct attached ear defenders just amplify the motor noise to a point where I think it’s dangerous to use. I returned them and will probably use simple mask respirators for now until I can afford the 3M PAPR that gets rave reviews but is huuuuugely expensive.
@adrianwoodworm
@adrianwoodworm Жыл бұрын
@@LeighHart I am sure the 3M is a good choice, I was looking at that one too but then I almost choked on my coffee when I saw the price. The flaws of the powercap active are manageable for me for now. If you ever end up getting the 3M, let me know what you think of it! Cheers!

I will continue to work on it as soon as my shop is in an acceptable, workable condition. There is still lots to do and work keeps me busy during the summer so progress is not as fast as I would like it. It might be fall by the time I get to it.
