Just as a reference when he says Joey Piney had 7-8 guys underneath that’s just 7-8 MADE guys. Each made guy usually has 6-12 associates underneath them. All of of them fall underneath the Joe Piney umbrella . So a captain at that time could have anywhere to 50-100 guys underneath him at any given time. Very powerful . That’s why Captains were considered Bosses or Heavyweights at that time.

Back in the late 70's my father worked at Rossi's bakery on Liberty Ave as a driver. I remember him telling me that these mobsters used to hang out in the back playing cards. One of them was Fat Andy whom used to call my father professor because he wore glasses. I was going to Franklin K. Lane at the time. I remember when I went to Blessed Sacrament grammar school in ENY I used to hear all these horror stories about Lane. Race riots, teachers being thrown out the window ect. Thankfully they kind of cleaned it up when I went there.
