The garage is actually really practical. A lot of the time when my family goes camping, we bring an extra vehicle in case we need to run into town and get food, drinks, firewood, etc. We don't wanna lug the whole RV there just to bring it back and hook it up again. We'd have to store all our stuff again. Also, you could put dirt bikes, regular bikes, ATVs under there easily and it would be super fun to have them stored away and available to play with.

The car storage is actually pretty genius. If you've driven one of these they are terrifying in really flat places where there's nothing to block the wind. It's basically a giant sail that you try to steer. The car helps drastically lower the center of gravity and keep the whole thing more stable. Plus you eliminate pulling a trailer and all the headaches that come with that.

@shanestern17882 жыл бұрын
This is genius if you happen to be absolutely breaded and can drop stacks on inconveniences like I drop axe kicks on women, frequently, indiscriminately, and with confidence. It is a massive flex tho, but practically it's extremely niche and only sorta makes sense for very specific scenarios, like Car shows, remember it's only very specific vehicles that fit, and big conventions involving sports cars, maybe a very specific breed of race car guy would be interested, but probably not. Clearly it's more of a status and flex related purchase, which I can respect, because sometimes you just gotta look cool, so props, and it's an engineering marvel, but ultimately a little silly when if the tech was applied to accommodate your standard vehicle it would destroy the actual interior space, so you'd just be driving a glorified half trailer (with cool bells and whistles), unless you specifically are transporting sports cars, in which case.... it's kinda genius and cool.

30 years ago, I worked for a company that sold such things in germany (built in the US). It is a rich people's toy - it is totally possible, this model was bought by some guy, who just thought it would be cool to have one, just to forget it alltogether in his garage. Especially in germany, this things are very useless. You have a very, very big (and slow) motor vehicle that you have to steer through narrow roads. Usually these thing were sold when "friends" of rich people were nearby, to be able to brag about the money they have spent. And when you use this things nobody at the camping site would talk with you. That really adds to the experience.

I know a few of the people who actually own motor homes like these, and there are generally a few groups: -Rich people who are car buffs, and moving a premium race/showcar from track to track -Rich people who want the experience of travelling cross country in a car for extended driving periods, but also want to maintain a plush lifestyle -Rich people who want a big motor home to keep in their garage and flex on people who visit as if they actually leave their 20 million dollar property for the first two groups it's actually a fairly practical investment, though one that's still high end and "glitz and glamour" lifestyle to a somewhat absurd degree.

For the record, hypercars get like 6-10 mpg, so an RV is actually going to have similar if not better gas milage. That being said, the real benefit is not putting miles and ware on your expensive car just for travel. super/hypercars are for driving at a track, or showing off (usually), so driving a million dollar car that depreciates with every mile for the roadtrip where it could rain, or road conditions could be shit, doesn't make sense. Rich people usually get these cars shipped. If you could instead drive it yourself with your RV, it is a huge benefit. This stuff is for millionaires not regular people.

Probably because anywhere you're taking an RV with a Bugatti Chiron or Smart car is going to have ample choices for transportation anyways, so you might as well fly to that location in significantly less time and just rent a car/Uber/whatever you want to do as someone who is obscenely rich. For the average person who loves camping in their RV, yes, storing your personal vehicle inside of the RV instead of towing it is awesome, but a Subaru or Jeep isn't going to fit in those compartments anyways, so it's a moot point.
