I have a 6a and my wife uses a 7a, so I've gotten to use both quite often. I agree with your assessment that the 7a sounds like an upgrade - but it's not. It got a few nice tweaks, but not an overhaul. Nice, but not worth ditching my 6a for. Good review. Thanks.

Unless you shoot in extreme low-light or record videos primarily, the Pixel 6a goes toe to toe with current flagships. Mkbhd's blind camera comparison kinda proves that. Btw, Mkbhd's choppiness comment was kinda true until the first ota rolled out and then Pixel 6a became buttery smooth. I actually prefer the OG panda colour on Pixel 6a with matte black frame...looks dope tbh. The coral pixel 7a is sweet too. Cheers

You had yet to update to android 14 yet because at the time of making this video it wasn't yet released. My pixel 6a updated like 3 days after 14 dropped and didn't miss a beat and has been running just fine.

As per GSM Arena and others the Pixel 7a has been universally panned for having poor battery life. I don't game, stream, vlog, etc. But after receiving the Android 14 and perhaps doing some battery saving tips can you confidently still say the battery life would last well up to 12 midnight or beyond ? (Thinking of getting either thile 7a or the older 6a with a bigger battery capacity)

Agreed. Even my old pixel 4a refresh rate seems smoother than my iPhone 13 60hz refresh rate

For those of you complaining about the refresh rate: settings>dev options>animation scale(and the other two scales), put all 3 at .05x and the animation will be a lot smoother and snappier.

No matter what get a decent case I dropped my phone it cost 200 pound to replace the OLED so get a good case simple as that.

I got a perfect condition Pixel 6a on Ebay for $100. I had a "flagship" Samsung s22 which on paper is a "better phone" except for battery life, but the Pixel 6a is a better experience and the camera beats every other phone I ever saw. There is something about how the 6a processed pics with ease that makes them look more pleasing than even the newer Pixel 8 in my opinion. The phone is fast for my needs and I shut off all animations and it is SNAPPY. Maybe an 8a or 9a down the road, but why pay more?

It's a matter of preference. For me I actually preferred the 6a over the iPhone 11 pro. iOS tends to be a bit slower on opening apps than Pixels. If you can live with a fingerprint sensor that is hit or miss and the 60 hertz display it's definitely worth it.

I would say this device would be better if they had the 90 Hz display. I like the form factor on it but the 7A is better on the upgrades.

7a definitely an upgrade with 90hz, 8GB RAM, wireless charging, and larger camera sensor; significantly improved modem as well. Just wait a year to buy it cheap. It's already $330 used on swappa.

If you can afford the $350 for the 7a, then definitely go for that. The better cameras, wireless charging and better display are big advantages

I have a 6a and no heating issues at all, you only feel heating at first when you first setup your phone when you first get it which is normal with most phones. I don't feel any choppiness or stuttering. 60h no issues at all. Excellent phone for the price.

I think the heating issues on pixels have been completely blown out of proportion. My pixel never over heats, yet a newish iPhone I own does

Make a real day in the life video about the Pixel 6a, but this time, make it a Saturday. Use the Samsung as ur camera and not ur phone. Just do everything u would normally do, but the only thing or catch is that a camera is in front of you. Also,if u can, let ur sis hold the Samsung for u or hire somebody else to do that for u
