How long did you keep your Pixel device? Or are you basing this on incomplete reviews? While it is true that the Pixel runs hot for about the first month while it's training itself to your specific usage patterns that tends to taper off pretty sharply. After about a month I didn't have this problem from either of my Pixel devices and that seems to be the general consensus amongst other long-term users as well.

Pixel phone does not heat up. No more after it received this update that no longer heats up

I have the s21 ultra loving it, especially loving the Samsung good luck customization can really make the phone mine. Got mine for 320$.

The s21 ultra overall, but the pixel 7 will get atleast 3 or 4 more major updates, and 4 years of security updates.

​@@samuelhere41no the pixel 7 will get 1 more android update and 3 years security it already got android 14 and it got the android 15 beta so you only have 1 more os left, it's only get 1 more os over the s21 ultra nothing signficant in terms of longevity.

@@samuelhere41 I'm not much worried about the future updates. Just want a phone that takes the best pictures out of both and not overheats while running heavy tasks, confused as I have heard a lot of praises about the camera of Pixel 7 pro but not sure if it beats the S21 Ultra in performance.

Yes for now please get the 8 pro. The 7 and the 6 will be obsolete soon. Only get the 6 or 7 if you can find them for really really low price.

I believe you are thinking of gaming on phones as if they are a replacement for console or pc gaming. In fact most people that are gamers in the true sense of the word don't even consider themselves as gamers because they play games like candy crush or monopoly go. This in fact makes them gamers even if they do not own a console or are not playing a first person shooter like Call of Duty. My mother is 79 and she plays games on her phone. My kids play games on their phones and my coworkers play games on their phone. You are in fact underestimating the scale and profits mobile gaming enjoys. "MOBILE GAMING HAS never received the same respect as console and PC gaming. Yet it generated over $90 billion in 2023, accounting for half of the global games market, and runs the gamut from casual to AAA titles. It's continuing to grow, and the boundary between mobile gaming and “regular” gaming is increasingly blurry." - Wired OP is just addressing a large demographic of consumers that partake in mobile gaming. I would be surprised if you never played a mobile game yourself.
