I want to feel optimistic about the midterms and relax a little, but after every traumatic disappointment since 2016 my ability to feel at ease has been crippled. No matter how badly the GOP screws up again and again, or how obvious it is that no sane human being should rely on them for any positive outcome, or how clearly the signs point towards Democratic victories, I will be acutely uncomfortable until this horror show ends. I've been made all too aware of America's capacity for stupidity.

For almost four years we heard "Repeal and replace...", in reference to the Affordable Care Act and when questioned about what the defeated former president was going to replace it with... we got, "It's a great plan, we're still working on it... it'll be ready in two weeks..."... it was the longest two weeks ever....
