Great video- clear, concise and very thorough. I've inadvertently went to the Mountain without fully understanding how the buttons worked - I paid the price in frustration. Now after watching this video the little GoPro Session makes so much more sense to me.

Very good video! I was getting so frustrated with the controls of this camera until I watched this video, and everything makes so much more sense now that I got it figured out. The GoPro Session manual doesn't give a good description of the order of operations you need, but you laid everything out perfectly, thanks for helping to clear things up for me!

I want to thank you for the video. There was a time when companies sent out little booklets that taught you how to use their product, I suppose Gopro has something on their web site.. but yours was perfect :) a "how to set up your go pro for dummies" and yes, I am a go pro dummy, a newbie to gopro. I have about 3 weeks to figure all this out before a zipline/white water rafting trip. Now that I have it set up, I'm going to start practicing shooting. Thanks again for the great help.

Why do some GoPros come with less accessories in the box. I just purchased a Hero4 session and it didn't come with a low profile frame or a ball joint buckle that I had seen online.

I know its been a million years, BUT, Im trying to set the date on the Sessions.... Where You have the screen that says 'Bluetooth pairing Request', My screen is asking for a Password.. That Ive NEVER set... so how would I know it if I never put one in??? The camera has a PIN but there's nowhere to put it in... (no it doesn't work as the password)

I keep watching videos on the GoPro Session because I want to purchase one really badly, but I'm afraid it will be too confusing for me. Your video is the BEST video I've watched because it gives me confidence to try. Thank you! (My only concern now is that I'm afraid I will take videos of everyone's bellybuttons instead of their faces - lol - I guess the phone is used to get use to the position of the lens and it will be a matter of recognizing the angle of the camera to know exactly what you are centering - talking about hand-held videos)

LOL watching this tutorial SEVEN years later as I am so unfamiliar with old tech now lol. A friend never used her Session camera, and gave it to me (yup, never used for 7 years and yes it does work). I am into filmmaking so I use DSLRs but have played with GoPros as POV angles lol but Session is such a fun little camera, I was so happy to still find this video lol

Yeah, the Session comes with one Flat Adhesive Mount and one Curved Adhesive Mount.

Bought my session today. I only got 2 adhesive, the frame with the buckle, and usb for charging. Is that okay? I didn't look at the box when I grabbed it since it was empty and all the same price. They will only give you the product at the cashier so...

Yeah, if you don't mind sticking an adhesive mount on there, that is the most secure mount. Wait about 24 hours after you adhere it to let the adhesive set and you are good to go. Or, the suction cup mount is solid too. Just check the suction after you put it on there.

Clean the area it's to be mounted. For the sake of your 'wallet', attach a tether to the camera and the outside mirror. The official GoPro suction cup is very good, but if it pops off you may not see it go and that would be a real downer!

Kudos, Great video. I was getting frustrated with my session until I read this. One thing you need to note with this camera is patience is key. Also, people watching, pay strict attention to the app connection process. On android make sure you connect the wifi manually because if you rely on the app to do this, it will appear to never happen.

If you film using the app will the videos save to your camera roll

No, the videos and photos won't automatically save to your camera roll. The files are saved on the camera's microSD card. After you film, you can go through your GoPro's media to select which photos or videos you want to save to your phone so that you don't use up all of your phone's memory.

Vhs Vcr the capture app allows you to control the go pro( start/ Stop) and preview what the camera is seeing so you can set up a shot/ check the view. The moment you hit record, you no longer get a preview from the gopro. The gopro records to its onboard micro sd card ONLY. It does not record to your phone. The video file can be copied to your phone when not recording, to be edited. By the way, I love the how to use book... I keep it handy as I learn.

Great tutorial on the pairing much easier than going by the instructions you made it so simple. Thanks for the video tutorial I have now bought two of these cameras for wheelchair security when I go out and have come in very handy. I also have a silver but prefer to use these much simpler to record. Also the audio is way better than the silver Regards Mark Sydney Australia

You go WAY to fast for a beginner. I cannot find a "GoPro App" I can find "Capture", is that what you are referring to? I got this camera and am still struggling with it. Took it to a party, all of the video was too dark. Tried to do a cooking video - All I got was the kitchen cabinets. I am not going to give up but to me this camera takes some getting used to.

They now have 2 apps for it. one is for editing and one for doing what the original gopro app did. The app you need is 'Capture'. Threw me a lill bit also.

I don't think he goes too fast at all. You can pause the video you know? I myself found myself rewinding several times too, but that's just what you have to do on KZfaq, unless you want to make a 30 or 40 minute video, which will certainly make people skip past it because they do not have the time. But I'm glad you brought up the point about the GoPro App, because I would have been looking all over for that too. I'm going to get it fired up tomorrow. Charged and got it all ready tonight and it's bed time. Thanks for the heads up.

I just got my go pro, I figured it out pretty easy. How do you delete from the camera? I was playing with it, and got some video's I didn't want and some how many pictures. I plan to be using this why barrel racing on my horse. Thanks for the start up video. This helped me more than the book I got with it.

If I was going to use it for say hockey, where the environment is cold, will the adhesive mount maintain its adhesiveness or do I need to worry about it falling off? Would I be better off finding a mount to attach directly to the helmet? Thanks again.

Does this have removable battery ? Which is better this or hero 5 I'm not really interested in 4k . Also for the 4k version how fast will it eat that storage on the sd card ? Will 32gb be enough ? With the 4k version is it locked to record in only 4k ? Or can it be set to 1080p 30 ? If i wanted to ?

The battery cannot be removed on the Session cameras. The battery is removable on the Hero 5 and 6 Black cameras. All of the cameras can be set to record at a lower resolution. I would recommend a 64GB card, especially if you decide to record in 4k, but you can get by with a 32GB card. The Hero 6 Black is the best camera, followed by the Hero 5 Black, and then the Hero 5 Session. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the tutorial. I use the session on my motorcycle, however all the videos make near objects appear distant. I can't seem to find the right settings to get those "real life" videos. Even when riding 5 ft behind another bike, it appears the bike is way further ahead of me. Kinda like that "objects are closer than they appear" on side view mirrors. What setting do you recommend I try?
