The GoPro Hero4 Session is a tiny cube that records HD video at 1080p 30fps and 8-megapixel still images.
I'm really liking this camera. Its had some negative reviews and people seem to misunderstand how to get the best footage out of this camera.

I feel the need to congratulate you for one of the first real unbiased reviews I watched in a very long time. Thank you. I have one and I love it, mainly for the inconspicuousness of it in my helmet mount. Good quality image. if I could only use a outside mic... nevertheless well worth the 219 euros it costs nowadays.

This was such an informative and helpful video... Not just the content of the video, but also the detailed description! This is nice but I need to get the hero 5 session for the video stabilization for what I'm going to do but damn it's over a hundred dollars more . If i set it to 4k and upload it to KZfaq will the video have options to view all the way upto 4k so it'll include 720p and 1080p ?

Hi, I saw a setting in the app that lets you turn wide angle on/off. Do you feel that helps with the barrelling of the footage? Michael.

I got one for Christmas and have tinkered with it for the past few days. So far I am impressed with the sound quality. I was kind of expecting a tinny, echoing sound on playback but instead I got a nice rich sound. I love the phone app and will be trying out the DaVinci app for editing. Thanks for the links and enjoyed the video.

Great review! I'm going to be using it to film arcade games at stores/arcades. They tell me I can't record when I bring in my huge 70D and a rode video mic so hopefully this little guy won't draw attention and still keep the quality!

Nice overview. I've been using my Session to do cycling video, where the ultra wide view actually helps with mounting location choices. However, I wish there were better filter mount choices (ND or Polariser) and some sort of lens adapter for a narrower view. Perhaps that will change with the Hero 5 Session.

I am torn between this and the Sony x1000v. would you use the session for paintball or do you think it would be good for an action sports like that? just curious because it doesn't have stability for shooting built in. The Sony one does but cost alot more. What do you think ?

I have one, and for i what i remember, i think doesn't last longer than 2 hours in a row, yesterday I made a motorcycle recording, and I recorded it for 1 hour and I already had a low battery, but I know it lasts longer,

I'm technology challenged, so I really appreciate your review. One question; I'm trying to decide between the 4 and the 5. My application is pavement circle track stock car racing. My concern with the 4 is no vibration control, will I be disappointed in the quality of the 4?

Really good detailed review :) im getting a Hero4 Session today, as of xmas i've had to replace my Hero+LCD twice due to faults and a Hero+ once also due to faults and also a Hero3White which overheated last weekend right before i was about to use it at a festival. so this will be my 5th go pro since xmas and tbh im getting a bit sick of taking them back but hopefully this will do the job right

Very good video. Perfect editing, good production, imparcial review. Congratulations. It's one off the best reviews of the session I've seen. I don't know if you are familiar with the session 5 or the yi 4k, if you are, I would kindly ask you for an opinion between one of the two, assuming they have the same price. I find the reduced dimensions and practicability a good plus for the session 5, however, I think the yi, 4k might be better for the time lapses and slow motions? Thanks for your help. Best regards. Sounds like a very useful and dynamic review, thank you for that. Considering the tripod feature, i don't think that this kind of camera is supposed to be used with a tripod (it's more like an on-the-move camera)

So, I really liked the review. It helped me a great deal. I've borrowed a Hero4 Session from a friend. I've prep'd myself by downloading Davinci. However, ALEX 4D Wide Angle Fix is not compatible with Windows. It seems from what I can figure out, it's MAC based. Or, am I missing something. If it is MAC, what is the Windows Version you'd recommend?Thanks

helpful video. Thanks so much. What memory card (specifics) did you use? I bought a Session a few weeks ago and ended up returning it less than a week later. It kept freezing up on me, and really froze up whenever I tried submerging it just under the water. Wondering if it's the memory card that was causing issues instead of the unit now.

Good review. Well spoken. Been on the fence about this as I am not even sure I need one but with its small size and light weight, I may use it for hockey and golfing.. Hope it fits with me and my lifestyle.. I'm not into extreme sports by any means but I do believe I can find a use for this little fellow..

Compliments for the wonderful review and suggestions about the tools you use, I would like to know if you have suggestion about a sw that perform well in terms of image stabilization for the videos coming from this camera, and if for you is as good like the cameras that has this Image Stabilization sw embedded into the camera (like a Git2 action camera or Sony action cameras) Thank you very much for you review
