GoPro mounts have a rubber grommet that must be removed to allow you to slide the components of the mounts together.

Thank you 15 minutes and I thought I was going to break it trying to get it to fit. Why on earth doesn't gopro make it clearer how this works.

I was as frustrated as you!!! When I figured it out I thought a video would be helpful for a few people ... but its getting a lot more views than I expected. If you are new to GoPro it isn't obvious how they slide together ... a diagram on a bit of paper would be useful.

Thank you so much for this video. I've been trying every which way I thought was possible to attach my GoPro to the wand and nothing was fitting. Had no idea that you had to lift that rubber piece. And yes, it would have been nice if GoPro included some literature on this when you purchased the product.

When I got my first GoPro I struggled with this problem. I wasn't sure if it was only me and nobody would watch this video ... but this video gets quite a few views and also a lot of comments saying "Thanks" ... so I think it is a common problem and GoPro should include some instructions with their mounts!!! Enjoy your new GoPro 😀

Don't worry you, me and a lot of other people struggled with this judging by the number of views and comments for the video. When I made the video I thought the video would get very few views ... but it get enough views to show that when you get your first GoPro there are a lot of people who struggle to slide the mounts together.

Thanks. It is a much more popular video than I was expecting. When I made it I thought that just a handful of people would watch it each month ... but its well over 1,000 views per month. I find that reassuring because I honestly felt that it was just me being a bit stupid!!! Maybe one day GoPro will add a small leaflet or something that will show how to do it ... until then my video will help :)
