You say the owner is using the remodel as an excuse for potential failure - this would be true if he DIDNT like the remodel; however, him admitting that he liked it negates him using the it as an excuse. I’m not saying all the restaurants on this show don’t know about the makeover - in fact i’d be willing to say 95%+ know about it lol. This was such an early episode I think production was working out the “kinks” and that’s why I find this episode very interesting.

@@mambutuomalley2260I expect Gordon knows there will be failures of some kind on relaunch night. Rather, I believe he is stress testing the personnel rather than his regime. It’s the best way to see what they can do under serious pressure, and to build confidence in their success while also pinpointing their failures.

Also, I've never been to The States but, in my neck of the woods, restaurants don't fill up to capacity immediately after they open. Entries are staggered during the evening. Unless it's a buffet type of meal, you cannot possibly expect fifty, sixty, or seventy people to be served within a quarter of an hour all at once. That would indicate that everything was just warmed in a microwave and who wants that?

Dry cleaning is different to doing the laundry. Men's suits, jackets and blazers cannot be laundered in the washing machine. Silk, velvet, wool, leather, linen and suede are all fabrics that require professional dry cleaning.
