I think Uncle Roger roasted Gordon for his only content, but then Gordon acted as a professional media person and turned everything into entertainment for the viewers and a free advertisement for both Uncle Roger and himself. I love these two, this is what I picture true friendship, taking shot, talking smack, fire everywhere, but still civil. I would pay and even book a flight if the two of you decide to have a tour together, roasting someone, or doing shenanigans together.

Even bad publicity is still publicity. I like how Gordon is actually very clever and uses uncle Roger's criticism to push his career by challenging Uncle Roger right back. As opposed to Nigella and Jamie who don't react. Very clever PR by Gordon

That and also he doesn't have a fragile ego and understands that Nigel is a comedian so it's his job to make fun of people unlike Jamie Oliver who takes it way too personally. If Jamie leaned into the jokes and addressed the criticism, he'd have a lot more respect from Uncle Roger and his fans.

You’ve got the wrong impression of Gordon. He loves joking around and talking shit with other chefs. This is fun to him and he seemed to become aware of Uncle Roger pretty quickly, I’m sure because of fans, and acknowledged him early on. Unlike Jamie Olive Oil who seems determined to ignore him lol

Gordon doesn't act like he does on TV. He's actually a really calm and nice guy. It's just a show for TV, he is an actor, not just a world-class Chef

@@DaysofKnight especially like he acts in shows that involves other chefs. He always said he's a lot more impatient with them because they should already know how to cook so he's always pissed off when they give him food that's not cooked properly. In Hell's Kitchen is also always more patient with young chefs even teaching them stuff on the spot during service...a lot less with experienced chefs though. But whenever you see him with home cooks, he's always a lot more relaxed.

@@Midorikonokami I’m white and an American and I definitely prefer the right amount of rose water in Middle Eastern cooking! It is my go-to food, partly because I’m lactose intolerant and there are lots of delicious dishes I can eat. Uncle Roger’s right amount, though: I can’t. I tried it with the garlic and it definitely disagreed with me. Spicy, you can forget it. I have an endoscopy lined up as it is. There’s a giant difference between not learning to enjoy things and not being able to eat them.

gordon warming up to uncle roger shows how much gordon ramsay has changed. from merciless critic, then to masterchef and now internet chef. gordon really has become more accepting of criticisms and the strange food choices around the internet. i think he has become a happier person with a good sense of humor.

I've known a few people who have worked for/with Gordon Ramsay (in his restaurants or other cooking capacity) and every single one of them said he was a fantastic boss and loved working for him. If you're serious about what you do, show potential and a desire to learn and improve, he's your man.

When I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, one of our Japanese colleagues took me to an local restaurant that served something very similar. 30 years later it remains one of the best meals I have ever had.
