It was raining lightly at Higashiyama Zoo.
Nene and her granddaughter Annie, who normally do not get along well.
On this particular day, Annie was looking worriedly at the scrape on Nene's left arm.
I do not know the cause of that scratch.
Later, Annie watched them from a little distance from Nene and Kiyomasa.
Deep down, Annie probably wants to be friends with Nene.

Nene was born wild in Cameroon.
The other three were born in the Higashiyama Zoo in Japan.

They seem very underweight compared to other Silverback groups. They are surviving but not thriving in my personal perspective. The cement jungle they are confined to appears to be rather small and greenery and lack of tree's and the food selection extremely limited. With new technology and access I feel confining wild animals in this type of habitat is not in favor of animals but solely for entertainment of human beings. I feel much anguish and sadness for these gorillas. I hope others might do better for these magnificent souls.

The fact that Annie when to check Nene's arm was a kind gesture..but Nene didn't trust her and moved on...still, it's nice to see there's empathy there on Annie's part. (Even if just a little)😊

@@TheFlashyWeasel It's always been this way, Annie tries to be nice to Nene but Nene doesn't know if she will be attacked so she moves & Annie takes it personally, and so it goes back & forth. I thought humans have problems.😉

Les gorilles sont passionnants à observer. 😊 Des fois j ai l'impression qu il n'y a pas une très bonne entente entre eux... Doit y avoir des conflits, des haines qu on ne voit jamais... Et ils ne doivent pas tous s'apprécier aussi... C est comme nous.

They are remarkable beings, so much like us. It looks like they live in an institution. A fish bowl type environment... which is stifling, maddening, depressing, stunted and sad. They belong in the Wild together where they are Free, Safe, Happy, Healthy.

金曜日、ネネさんの背中に傷があるのをみました。それでアニーちゃんが側にいたんですかね？ネネさんに八つ当たりしてるシャバーニの姿もありましたよ😞 おやつのあと、キヨマサ、ネネの隣のにはアニーちゃんが！！心配してたんですかね。今日は、息子が不機嫌でギャン泣き。アニーちゃん、息子の横に座り側を離れませんでした。泣き続ける息子に、ガラスを撫でたり叩いたりしてアピール。あー、この映像撮ってもらいたかったですー。

They look so bored. Gorillas are more like us and need a purpose and something constructive to do. Give life more meaning other than sitting in an enclosure and twiddling their thumbs...

Shabani must have jumped Nene because Nene was right up Kiyomasa’s bum. And Annie checking it out it wasn’t her buttttt then again Nene stayed away from Ai toooo.

仕方ないですね。　キヨマサは人間でいえば、反抗期で、キヨマサは雄の父親に勝つ行動をネネと組んで喧嘩がある。シャバーニは暴力をしたがらないが、止める時になる時もある。　　ネネが後ろについてる事で、　キヨマサを一番にしようとしている。ライオンの雄は２歳前に、追い出される。　雄同士は上になろうとする。　ゴリラはどこにも移動が出来ない。　　　　キヨマサとネネがあきらめるのを待つしかない。　シャバーニは喧嘩したく無い。　アニーも喧嘩は嫌いで中間の立場。　雄の男性ホルモンがそうさせる。　ネネも気が強い。

@@alexk9295, because he deserved too as he was undermining Shabani authority as everyone knows Shabani is one the most mellow gorilla in Japan but when you have to discipline then you have too.

This post makes me sad every time I see there videos, they are so board. If you watch the wild documentaries about them u see them traveling and playing and hunting together, here they sit mostly on Pavement structures, you can see they get frustrated being watched all the time... Why do they have no toys or enrichment stuff to play with.... Why not get some of them speaking buttons to communicate with them better with.... (Most likely they don't because if they seemed more human they would feel worse for locking them up) how about a tire swing or a spinning toy the stand on while others push.... I think they are only getting 2 star inrichment, and yes they do look smaller
