the steel cable has started to fray on both sides of mine...i don't know how you would replace them....

Spraying the roller assembly with some silicone spray periodically might help with longevity of all the worn out parts you spoke of. Just bought this kit. Thanks for the review.

You can replace those plastic rollers with aluminum ones. Google "gorilla lift aluminum rollers" and it should point you in the right direction. A company out of Wisconsin has them and you can also find them on Ebay.

Great review! I have the Gorilla lift on my old trailer. I didn't install it on my new custom trailer. I did a 24" dove tail on the back of the trailer with a 2" drop on floor so, I don't need any longer than 4ft tall on the gate. I also built the gate with 1 1/4" sq tubing. This is way stronger and lighter than the 2" angle iron that most people build their gates out of.

What did you place to install it? In another words how did you attack it to the side of the trailer? have video of installation? I only see installation for the utility trailers gate. But not for landscaping trailer. I have 4 feet side rails. Most lift assist dont recommend to go higher than 24 inches.

Can this be used on an Isuzu truck?

It will but you will have to construct a quick connect pin(s) to be able to both fold it down or to remove the gate.

I noticed he installed in backward from the instructions. The labels are to the outside. Not a biggy though as the angled portion was still to the back of the trailer and angled down

@snake plisken I purposely installed them on opposite sides from instructions so that the branding and labels would show on the inside of the trailer. Otherwise they would not be visible, and since the product was sent to me by the manufacturer, I thought would be helpful if people saw the branding on video and photos. The outsides are just square tubing. As long as you place them with the notch side mounted at the back of the trailer with the notch facing up it doesn’t matter what side the stickers are on.

It uses two springs. A larger diameter outside one and a smaller diameter one that fits inside the first larger spring. The large spring looks like a garage door spring. The bolt at the end of the tube goes through the loop on both springs and the cable attaches to the other end. Thanks for watching.
