Tim Keller sermons via Gospel in Life: This is the end of the “great prayer” by Jesus, also known as his “priestly prayer.” In this prayer, we see Jesus praying for his disciples in the room with him, but also for future Christians. If you are a Christian, this prayer is for you, and can give you the resources to face the challenges of life and of death itself. In these verses, we will see 1) What we most need; 2) How to get it; and 3) What the outcome will be.
This sermon was preached by Rev. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on June 25, 2017.
Scripture: John 17:20-26

I think I'll listen to this twice a weak until I fully assimilate it. I have been touched by the love of God on a number of occasions. I want to walk in it daily. It's incredibly moving to imagine Tim Keller now in the immediate presence of His Lord.

For the last few weeks I've been listening to this message almost every day. Sometimes several times a day. I can't get enough of it. Somehow this stuff never sunk in during my whole 40 years as a Christian. This is the best message I've ever heard. If only I'd heard it and took it in decades ago.

Michael...don't worry at all about that...Jesus knows what He's doing and when He's doing it. He's done it. He's won. You and I live on the other side of the Resurrection. We are watching...waiting...for His return. So. God bless you in your life. I value your prayers if you are ever inclined. Big love to you in Jesus... Xxx

@@JESUS.is.Coming.Soon. Hi Josephine, You've expressed a lot. If I understand your question, I do have trouble grasping how much Jesus suffered for us. I suppose having trouble grasping how much he suffered limits how much I can feel God's love. (But I might not be addressing your question exactly.)

@@JESUS.is.Coming.Soon. Haha, wow, you are a prolific writer. I like what you have to say, but it's a bit too much to reply to all at once. I see you also replied to one of my postings about trees in the desert. Looks like you live in a British Commonwealth country, judging by your spelling.

Good morning my beautiful family and friends. Those who I share this with. I found out that this beautiful man passed away this morning I heard on the news I was impressed with their description of him and I never heard of him before so I pulled it up to see if I it was someone I had heard, or if it was somebody I was just missing. Bottom line I missed this man before he died. It is nice that he left this beautiful message and his ministry behind so I will get to know him as he died now this is been introduced into my life the way he teach the word and I just like to hear because I love God's word. I shared it with my pastor John Rawlings and some of the other beautiful people that I know family friends bistro know that this is the way if we leave Earth we want to leave something behind as a legacy that we do know God and point other souls to God. This has blessed me so happy I could share it with those I love have blessed day❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Wow, wow. What a teacher you have been and still are for me. Thank you for reassuring me that this overwhelming visceral love I am experiencing for God and beyond is okay; and why I find it so hard to want to stay in this difficult world. One day Dr. Keller I pray that I may be able to sit with you for a while to really thank you in person. This will not be possible in this world because I live in North Wales in the U.K. so you are thousands of miles away. For many years you have truly been a Light in the often dark world of Christian teaching and preaching. May my Loving and Just Heavenly Papa bless you with everything, and especially I pray that during this time His Peace which really does pass all understanding, remains with you and Cathy. What a joy Dr. Keller you have been and still are, for me. 💞🛐🙏✝️💘

Once again he knocks it out of the park. You learn so much from listening to his sermons... So Jesus wanted us to be in the same love relationship as he in the father already are and were. And he wants us to know that he loves us with the same love that the father loves him. And he wants us to all have the same love for each other... Wow! And what's more, the more we have this love, the more we know he loves us, the less we will need that affirmation that is necessary in Western society, as he explains. And of course that's the only way we're going to be of service to God! If I need your approval for everything I say there's no way I'm going to be able to speak and do God's way. I will subtly compromise. I'll get angry if you don't affirm me. You can't love the world as we're commanded to love unless we have this love as Keller talked about here. And scripture tells us this too! Jesus tells us elsewhere we need to remain in the vine. 🙂 And as he says, we improve this love by studying scripture, by praying, by worshiping, by fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters.

Understand this! Get this! That the ones who do not fully understand our grace walk talk from a Pharisee position, of “Spiritual witchcraft” (see Galatians 3) of the witches brew….the practice of mixing grace with deeds of “righteousness “ which are really just filthy wraps floating around in that brew! “Him who comes to me I shall in no wise cast out! Once in rest, no need to ever work again! Christ is the end of the law for All who believe the grace message. There is a spiritual understanding that involves the change of mind ( metanoia : repentance) needed to cross over into Canaan. Once in the promised land, if the Israelites would have still wanted to go back to Egypt, well…there would be no other hope for them seeing that they were not fully in… they were walking in a land they did not believe belonged to them. Once we believe the land of Israel (blessed of God) is for us, belongs to us, is our inheritance, not because of anything we have done, not even because of us stepping through the Jordan river, carrying the ark of the covenant into that land, or building our home in the land, but all because we have a God who gives us every good and perfect gift, then we will truly enter that rest. So, sir Ekklesia, you still wanna go back to Egypt where the children labored day in and day out as slaves… or would you rather start experiencing all the blessings of sonship God had planned for you from before the foundation of the World? In Canaan or in Egypt?
