As a retired AF vet, I’ve been all over the world. There is such a timelessness to the moving water. I often try to imagine what it was like in the days of “iron men and wooden ships”. BTW, there is nothing more special than a father’s love for his daughter. Lauren is very lucky!

I was raised in the county, but my work life had me traveling regularly in multi-lane traffic. It didn’t bother me then, but I like things less busy now that I’m older. The sound of the water and waves coming into shore is so relaxing. You can really hear Mother Nature. Lauren had a coat on but I wasn’t surprised that Kenny wasn’t wearing one. I’ve seen you build garages with snow on the ground and no gloves many times. You must have those tough genes. Thank you for inviting us on your holiday outing.

I'm 70 (Just like you, Ken!) I don't use a cell phone, my wife does. I use maps when traveling and I have to say either the maps have gotten crappier or I'm just getting dumber. Probably the latter. I grew up by the ocean (LI, NY). I still live by the ocean south of Charleston, SC for over 30 years. I surfed, fished and scuba dived since I was a kid. Ken, you and your wonderful daughter need to try scuba diving, I'm very serious. What a topic for your channel! You can rent everything and trained people can take you down. It is one of the most amazing things you will ever do. I became hooked the very first moment, my very first breath underwater.

Thanks, guys, for the memory jog! I'm a retired truck driver that drove for a regional pet supply company coming out of New Jersey. My area was Southern New Hampshire and all of Maine. My first stop was on Rt 1 in Seabrook and then up to Rt 110 west to Exeter and Raymond. Passed the signs for the Hamptons all the time on Rt 1.

Both oceans are beautiful. I’ve been from our most easterly coast in Newfoundland to Vancouver Island’s western shore. My brother and I drove from Toronto to Siesta Key Florida for years, taking it easy over three days. We sometimes left in a Lake Erie blizzard and then slowly watched the landscape and temperatures change from the redbuds blooming in West Virginia to the palm trees in Georgia. We have fun memories, often singing and reminiscing as only siblings can do. However, those big highways are dangerous and we’ve seen some pretty awful pileups. So many transport trucks and impatient people. So now, we fly and rent a vehicle when we land in Sarasota. Siesta Key is a spectacular quartz sand beach. Hard to beat so we keep going back.

I love watching you two together, I have traveled extensively and one of the things I enjoy doing is getting into a new body of water. I only live about 20 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean at about the midpoint of the east coast, (funny note, when I stand on the beach and look out I am looking south, like you are. I have visited several different sea's and oceans. Always a blessing.

Thanks Ken and Lauren…answer to the oceans below. Such a great day to go to the beach! Although I enjoyed the beaches and oceans around Australia, I even tried scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef up near Cairns and also some swimming on their west and south coast near Perth (one of the most isolated large cities in the world)…I Lauren is such a great co-host, her positive energy and happiness is so infectious, she really adds to these adventures. Thanks again guys. It’s going to get cold up here in Western Canada again for a bit, so going to the beach at the lakes here would involve ice skates! 😎👍

Navy sailor been thru hurricanes, typhoons, rode 75 ft waves & dodged icebergs off N. Korea. X'd equator & Int date line many times. Best ocean is in Caribbean w/snorkeling in crystal clear waters & the best beaches. Love the wide beaches in St Augustine & Daytona you can drive on in your car & white sandy beaches in Fla panhandle. Pacific can be so calm sometimes & smooth as a sheet of ice sometimes. Nothing better than seeing the sunset & sun rise at sea & the all the heavens on a crystal clear nite. God is Great!

Yay, a stop at Inkwell on the way to Hampton Beach New Hampshire! Your treats sounded yummy! Pretty mountains! It's okay that you got lost! My mom used to get lost and she would always say that "lets see where this road goes to". We found some amazing places getting lost! My husband used to visit Salisbury Beach Massachusetts a lot when he grew up near Boston. Pretty view of the ocean! It does look really nice with the low tide! Cute watching you get the ocean water. My mom used to clam at the ocean. You need one of those clam shovels to dig down fast. Good effort! Beach in a bottle! Nice drone shots! Thanks for this Ken and Lauren!

@@kensscenicjourneys7190 Well actually I’m picking up “water struck” brick that are pavers for an instillation when the house was built. Then a “backfill” and leveling with granite “hard pack”- then the brick goes back down. Arggg. I’ve been avoiding this one for a couple of years and trying to take advantage of the warm weather! The brick settled and I hope to raise the whole thing six inches or so…. Well , back at it now… 😉

Interesting video, I live on the Thames Estuary, about 40 miles East of London. The tide here goes out a mile from the shore but we can always see land on the opposite side of the estuary. The biggest thing of note where we live is that we have the longest pleasure pier in the world - being over a mile long. I have also been in the Atlantic ocean - but 1000s of miles from where you are.

Fun video, thanks! Since I've lived in Vermont, I haven't once visited the ocean; I suppose I should sometime. Of all the oceans/seas I've seen, I have to say the Mediterranean and the Atlantic off the coast of Iceland are both tied for my two favourites. Even though I grew up very near the Atlantic, I'm not really an ocean lover, but more of a mountains guy. Every continent I've been to, I've always sought out whatever mountains were available. When I lived in Rome for several years, I would sometimes visit friends who had villas on the Tyrrhenian or Adriatic coasts, but even with that, my preference was to head up north to the Dolomites or Alps whenever possible. Cheers!

Once at hampton beach, you should have taken the scenic road trip north on Rt1A along the NH coast line and stopped at Odiorne Point State Park which has an abandoned WWII barracks, Sea center and lots of Scenic trails along the coast. If you are adventurous you might even find some of its secret entrances to some of underground rooms and tunnels. Even has free parking this time of the year.
