This isn't actually supposed to be a list of the 100 best OSTs ever. Kuma says in the description that all 12 participants chose 9 OST to be ranked. That's why so many amazing pieces are missing, no one nominated them. Traditional Song of Shadows (73) and Decretum (72) are both easy top 10 OST on this list.

For this video, each participant chose 9 songs So don't see the list as the best anime OST ever made but a list of the fav OST from 12 people ranked from the least to the most loved one by the group Also Insert song is, to simplify, an OST with lyrics (YouSeeBIGGIRL is an insert song so not in the list) Thanks for your reaction this was nice as always

@@arc1only its finicky and kind of trial and error. Sometimes it may not even be the link that is causing the removal, it could be some "non harmful" words in your comment. for a start, you can try copying my comment and just make edits while keeping the spacing within the brackets. Another thing that may help could be using " " for some of the titles/song names. But its not consistent. Also occasionally, after YT mulls over your comment for a few minutes, your comment may pop up again or be excluded from the "top Comments" section and only appear in the "newest first" section when you sort the comments. Perhaps someone else who's more well verse can chime in.

Berserk manga IS better and is one of the greatest manga of all time. But what these people fail to include is that the Berserk 1997 anime adaptation and the 3 Golden Age movie adaptations is the way many(and I would argue is the best way) to get people interested and make them branch out to pick up the manga. They are done in a way that leaves you with so many questions it is hard to not want to go read the manga right after. I would love to see you react to the Berserk 1997 anime to get the proper pacing for one of the greatest arcs ever. Dubbed or subbed as both are amazing. Followed by watching the three Golden Age movies which cut out a lot but also expand on some stuff that was cut from the 1997 anime and aren't censored as much. I'd even be willing to meet in the middle and have you watch the extended movie adaptations in a 13 episode anime form which is Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - Memorial Edition available on Crunchyroll. Berserk 1997 OSTs are so iconic and fit the series so well that it is hard to read the manga without listening or at least thinking about the OSTs from it!

I'm surprised that "Le chant de Roma" from Akame Ga Kill is almost never mentioned. This OST is simply amazing. Also in Mushoku very good osts, there’s probably not even one to single out. Anyway, thank you for your reaction

Blue Eye Samurai? Liz and the Blue Bird? Putting the word "blue" in the title is super common in manga/anime, especially since the color blue symbolizes youth and a lot of anime focus on younger characters.

Man the first DBZ one was nostalgic AF. Same for the YuGiOh one. Also, it's a crime that neither the main theme from Detective Conan nor Brave Heart from Digimon are on this.

4:06 you can find spider lilies in a lot of anime not just Demon slayer. 44:26 I'll look forward to it. 46:44 insert songs can also be considered ost as they're part of the soundtrack but the track needs to have lyrics to be considered an insert song at least that's how I see it. So this list is just instrumental. I'd also like more Eve on your channel I recommend doing "Inochi no tabekata" / "How to eat life" next as the MV is a prequel to the "Fight song" MV.

Mushishi is a really good show in terms of atmosphere and music, if I remember correctly most episodes had their own outro songs, I'm glad Land of the Lustrous came up cuz it has consistently some of the best music of any anime I've seen

13:35 Shinsekai Yori (From the New World) is a masterpiece and has been my favourite anime for over a decade at this point. Sadly it rarely appears on your radar because the show doesn't have an opening meaning there's no opening song for you to react to. It does however have an end credit song that's just a massive vibe. I would love to see you react to the end credits for Shinsekai Yori.

And it also does not mean its bad if its popular it has something that many like. Anime / production does not declare it is iconic. Mushishi is one of those anime that only true, deep into the medium fans have even HEARD about. It's to anime what movies like the Godfather are to cinema. Not something that anyone could or SHOULD casually watch, but if you do watch it... It's amazing.

Yes, watch Monogatari. #43 is from the Kizumonogatari prequal movie trilogy. Normally you are suppose watch Bakemonogatari first then Kizumonogatari, but watching Kizumonogatari first is not the worst thing in the world since it's the chronological first entry. You would probably be pausing a lot to read the subtitles. Oh, and also pausing to appreciate the cool animation as well.

Yay, I'm glad you reacted to this! You're right, these are non-vocal osts. Most songs with lyrics would be insert songs which we couldn't include. (YouSeeBigGirl is an insert song, so couldn't be here.) And you're right, 30 was one of my picks and is Sawano.

oooooh my god the Mushishi one started playing, instantly transported me back to when I was a kid watching it, and then the video switched it to something else and it made me mad for a second. I love that OST so much, please listen to it. actually, watch Mushishi, it's better in context. I love that one. but yeah, Mushishi is simply about a man who goes around and helps people solve their problems. specifically, problems with Mushi, which are creatures, somewhere at the crossroad between plants, bugs, and spirits. the ways they function feel almost kind of alien in how different their priorities are. anyway, the most annoying thing about this list was that there wasn't a single Vinland Saga OST on here. that is madness to me, like, there are so many Vinland Saga OSTs that I would definitely recognize more than Another Generic Sweeping String Section. so many of these were just like... an epic string section. again. you can't tell me that's more memorable than those solitary piano notes as Thorfinn opens Thors' dagger for the first time. so many scenes in Vinland Saga are so hugely elevated by the OST. just go watch episode 1 as Thorfinn walks around his village, you'll want that OST in here immediately. I'm a little salty.

Mushishi is an incredible Anime. Each episode is a story in of itself, with slight connections to previous ones, with the main character being the only real connecting link between all of them. It is an amazing experience. If you can, I really recommend checking it out. It is somewhat well known, but I doubt many people would vote for it, since it's not a typical shounen/action anime, so I'd almost recommend checking it out in your own time, or maybe with friends.

_Mushishi_ is a bit of a hard one to describe, I guess you could say it's about folktales..? The concept is there's tiny, primitive creatures called "mushi" which are the actual cause of things that ancient humans blamed gods and spirits for. Disease and supernatural events, that sorta thing. The protagonist is a "mushishi" someone who is knowledgeable about these creatures and travels around assisting people who are being troubled by them.

Well ost just means "official sound track" so if the series has a sung song in it, it is part of the OST right? but doesn't change the meaning of an ost and pretty much all anime have just songs with no vocals as well

16:22 In my opinion the parts of chainsaw man that have been adapted are the least interesting. I think Fujimoto intentionally played it a bit safe in order to Trojan horse his way in to Shonen jump so that he could start telling the story he really wanted to tell, which definitely would be canceled if it wasn’t for it’s popularity.

Mushi-shi as an anime is an atmospheric vibe. It's something you'll want to be in the mood for chill but also intriguing and mysterious supernatural. There will be thoughtful and sad moments in it. Overall, it's great. Sub and dub are both good.

If I made this list, it will be full of Yuki Kajiura and Sawano songs, that's how bias I am. Others mainly are Bleach, Made in Abyss, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Naruto, Fairy Tail. And while we're at it, please react to Yuki Kajiura/FictionJunction more. She and her vocalists have lot of great live performances. Not sure its accurate to call this a "top 100 of all time list" when a bunch of them are given low rankings by the rankers. For compilation lists I will again recommend "Evolution of Studio Madhouse in openings 1973- 2017", and Yvimarã AMVs decade lists, especially the 90's list.

Oh, I would add so much to this list, like some of Hitman Reborn soundtracks, some Detective Conan ones, and much more Gundam osts as there is a lot of amazing ones old and new, some more Yuki Kajiura's works for example from Tsubasa Chronicle and .hack. I can agree with some of these that they sound nice, but personally I am not a big fan of this list, would probably throw away at least half or more of them and replace them with something else ^^;

18:39 I know it doesn't work like that, but I recommend watching this one, it's called BNA: Brand New Animal, and it's an original from studio Trigger. Not their best work, but the visuals are so unique, the characters are cool, and the soundtrack is pretty good ( the OP and ED are frickin great, I regularly listen to them).

my take on the Tokyo Ghoul anime vs manga is that I think you should still watch the anime first and then check out the manga. But if it does get a remake announced then I'd say maybe wait until that comes out. If there isn't a remake coming then I think a reaction series would still be fun, but the comments would have to hold themselves back and not say what was supposed to happen vs what was actually shown, because there are SO many changes.

For the insert song bit at the end, I don't consider music that has a choir to be insert song, because the vocals part is more considered like another instrument then consider as the central part of the song.

Insert song are those that have lyrics through most of the duration of the track and the singing is the more important part of the song. OST can have lyrics but more like choirs like arrangements or decorations to the music or blends in the music. I'm not sure if that's correct , but thats how i feel it is 😂 So I would consider youseebiggirl an OST not an insert song. Maybe in the next batch is going to be ranked.

considering that this list specifically was ranked by just 12 people and therefore shouldnt be considered to have all the best ost out there but just some of them, id recommend to look for a list of most streamed anime ost instead maybe, also, i did not expect to see isabellas lullaby on top 1 but it was a pleasant surprise indeed

No disrespect to anyone who contributed to this list as we all have different tastes, but this is the first one of these top videos I’ve ever considered genuinely bad. So many of my all time favorites were just missed completely, songs I am positive are soundtracks and not insert songs since they have absolutely no vocals, and so many of which I know aren’t because they are from obscure anime because so many anime included here had OSTs included that for me had much better options from those same shows… and as others have said the Berserk Guts’ theme being so low is criminal. I shall say nothing about what its about, being as blind as possible when watching is the whole of of this series. 20:53 Mushishi, a beautiful anime about a world inhabited by humans and the supernatural mushi-an aspect of nature that is bizarrely just as beautiful as it is dangerous 39:31 you didnt ask but thats Land of the Lustrous. REALLY deserves more seasons as its manga has some of the wildest twists you'll ever see

I have to say, a lot of these picks are not even the best ost from the show they are in, let alone all the shows that deserved to be here, but weren't. I was really hoping to see Claymore, Girls Last Tour, and Death Parade on here, but not too surprising they weren't since I am guessing most of the people submitting ost's haven't seen them. The Hajime no Ippo one was a shame though since there are so many awesome ost's that could have been picked too that were missing. Perhaps there was a rule of 1 ost per show per person. My top 5 would be: 1. Hajime no Ippo - Silent Eyes 2. Death Parade - Moonlit Night 3. March Comes in Like a Lion - Effort 4. Claymore - Youma no Okite 5.
