The lady in white is Aida Garifullina, *1987, a Tatar from Russia, world-famous opera star and Prima Donna at the Vienna Opera (Austria). The lady in black is Lara Fabian (*1970), also a world-famous singer, songwriter from Belgium and a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child, Dimash wished to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and here the dream came true. This event took place on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoi (composer at the piano) in 2019. Can there be a nicer birthday? * Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/ Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. So far, Igor has composed several songs for Dimash and many songs in 30 years for Lara Fabian and other singers. Most of the songs in this concert were by him. He deserves it and also flowers from the Russian Dears. * Lilia Vinogradova wrote the grandios lyrics and is known as a permanent co-author of the composer Igor Krutoy, with whom has created wonderful works in the crossover genre. Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event: • Igor is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed • This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with” • This also explains why the song does not exposes more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton. • Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable • Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. She gives room to Aida to do it instead and Aida uses this magnificently. • It was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara (he is a fan since he is a child and he covered several of her songs): look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it … • Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it is her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there. She also is married to a sicilian man • Look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara • Also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀 • I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons on a daily basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers. • Final note to say that Lara Fabian wrote the song Your Love for Dimash

My new Blow-my-mind favorite is his premiere of new song, El Amor En Ti, from the recent Almaty concert...must listen with english subtitles, the words so meaningful to match his passion and the drama of the stage show....don't want to say too much so you enjoy with full amazement!

Dimash + Aida (without Lara) singing Ulisse at the same concert is equally stunning - you have to listen to this. Aida has a part which sends shivers down my spine every time, no matter how often I listen to it. Aida is one of the top opera sopranos of our days, being the prime female singer of the Vienna opera house.

Aida (Ah-ee-dah) Garifullina is a very, very renowned opera soprano. In fact, to my ears she provides the best voice to match Dimash and the best reason for him to do more actual opera. This is another fine piece of composing by the amazing Igor Krutoy - a truly lyrical and gorgeous trio. He used to have it performed with two opera singers and Lara. Watch the same piece with the late, great, basso-baritone Dimitri Hvoritovsky. It’s just that Krutoy can capture the essence of a beautiful opera aria, while he’s not an opera composer. This performance is undoubtedly one of the most exciting of this modern aria. Although Dimash’s baritone is lighter than that of Dimitri’s, he hits the notes with perfection. All in all, as you can see and hear, opera isn’t that scary or uninteresting at all. There are many, many beautiful solo arias, duets and trios like this in the operatic repertoire which would suit Dimash to a T, in any range he chooses to sing. And - there are stars in that universe too! 😅🎉

Did you not realize you had the Italian subtitles on rather than the English ones? By the way, Aida's name is pronounced as: Ah-EE-dah gar-i-FOOL-e-nah, a well known and famous lyric soprano. This is a trio. A duet, by definition, is sung by only two performers. The duet with just Aida and Dimash is called Ulisse (oo-lease)
