Aaron Grace exactly. I hate the shootout. Has absolutely nothing to do with the team game. Even if it went to double overtime then shootout would be way better

You also have to keep on mind that teams have 82 games, so it's easier for them to have just 5min ot and then shootout.

They can't drag it too long, the game has to end and they have to have a team win. I like shootouts, I don't know where this idea that it sucks come from all of a sudden.

One of the most entertaining overtime periods I have ever watched! That save by Freddie Andersen on the 2-on-0 was WIZARDOUS!! One of the best 2-on-0 saves I have EVER seen! Talk about delivering under pressure!!

0.893 isn't exactly great, with 2 or 3 soft goals.... and that doesn't even include the shootout. Not to mention he tripped over nothing to allow the 1-0 goal.

Go Jets Go!!! The OT period should honestly be 10 minutes long. Wish the NHL would realize how exciting it is for the viewers to watch some 3 on 3 hockey & how much of a crime it is to only give us 5 minutes of it

Right, but Im talking about my team, our defence took a fat blow to the head so Chevy needs to do a lot of work. Jet’s offence can sometimes look like kids playing hockey for the first time, but suddenly play like a hive mind. Clean plays and fluid movement. I think we’d be cup contenders if we can just rebuild our defence.

Lot of people saying "No more shootouts" Some others saying "Perfect as is" I propose this compromise: Three 5 minute OTs. 5v5, 4v4, 3v3 Only three shooters if a shootout. Let a tie count the same as an OT Loss (1 point)

It looks like the Leafs completely abandoned any defensive play in this overtime. The 2-on-1 where Andersen was forced to make that pad save stands out as an example where Nylander just let his man go up the ice uncontested to join the rush. The Leafs pretty much handed the Jets every chance to win on a silver platter, and Freddy was put in a terrible position multiple times where it was really unnecessary, and could have been avoided with just a little bit of defensive hustle.

Lets focus in on Nylander for a moment.He starts his shift at 1:26. At 1:39 he seems to have no energy to backcheck and makes no attempt to get in the passing lane.That said he proceeds to stay on until 2:13 where he changes on a 2 on 0 breakaway.This is gameplay you see from Nylander on a nightly basis.I for one cant stand the guy.He’s lucky for his sake hes been producing this year offensively cuz that kind of hockey just doesnt cut it in the NHL.Keefe should hold some of these forwards more accountable for their lackluster defensive efforts.
