Any idea why my Cleopatra chimes are only working when I start a game or add credits? It’s the SS version.

This is a Gottlieb System 1 (Their first attempt at solid state games as they were reluctant to break away from their popularity in EM games) So, the sounds in these are driven by the solenoid driver board. We know that the chimes are working when starting or adding credits, that tells us that the drivers are working. I would start by turning off the game and opening the backbox. You will see 3 sets of 8 dip switches in a row (total 24 switches). On switch 20, it will be on the last of the 3 sets and marked with a 4. Sorry, I'm trying to word this without being confusing. That switch should be on. This is the "chimes on with scoring" setting. Once you turn that on, turn the game on and try it. It's best to not flip any of those switches with the game on. If you still have problems, feel free to email me at pinmonkeyinfo@gmail.com and we can work through it. Thanks for watching!
