Hey Chris I really love the work that you do I think decorating with lights is very important it creates moods almost cinematic, in San Diego many years ago, we had a great lounge called airport lounge and that’s where I determined how important was to paint with light, except it was too expensive more than decade, now it’s affordable and have many options.I think your videos and work you do it very tastefully. I’ve seen a lot of guys doing it and they overdo it. There’s one thing I wanted to ask you maybe something that you could do a video. Have you seen those vertical light lamps. Like the Noxu design? Is this something you can make a tutorial about it? Maybe HomeKit compatible? Here is a link to the club circa 2005

I dig these big time. Did you have a chance to check out the Govee triangles? I am guessing they are thew same specs, have same patterns but just a different shape. Or do you know if one product seems to look better?. I have not seen a direct comparison between the two. Thanks for any info. Peace

I have not tried the triangles yet but from what I can tell they look almost identical. I really do love the lights and think they look more evenly lit than the nanoleaf brand. The only thing that I would change on the Govee brand was to improve the connecting process. (I think nanoleaf makes this easier) and I wish they would be able to block the slight glow of color emitted out the back that bounces off the walls (this is more of a personal preference as I'm sure some people really like this aspect)

I might just picks these up. I got a pair of their Lyra lamps for the Black Friday sale on Amazon for $98 each. Maybe it’s time to get these. But they r a pretty penny. Might wait till they are on sale again. I do have a $50 Amazon credit which would help.

Yeah the Lyra for 98 each is a great deal! I don't think you would be disappointed. They really are impressive and what I liked most about it was the even color. There were not any spots on the hexagons that were a little less bright. I'm sure they will go on sale eventually. Govee always seems to be running deals! Thanks for watching!

awsome video! question, how is the panel removal from the wall? will it leave a sticky reside on your wall. Will it peel the paint off the wall?

Thanks for watching! Yes there are sticky pads that can be removed without damaging the wall. Its just your basic 3m removable sticky pad.

I have these and i am an active member on the app. Some people have reported damage to the surfaces upon removal. I didnt want to damage anything so i decided on a design and found a piece of ply wood that i attached the panels to and then i hung it like a picture on the wall. It also made changing the design easy...which leads me to my question. Chris i have had multiple connectors break and Govee has replaced them but could they be soldered to repair or possibly lengthen so you could have a group of panels thatare farther away from the main group?

Do you know if it’s possible to leave gaps in between hexagons and how big of a gap can you achieve?

If I remember correctly there is a little room for a gap with the connector pieces but not much. If I had to guess I would say about 1 inch is the max! Thanks so much for watching!

Do you know how long these would last if the app automatically turned them off at night and on at 100% brightness for the rest of the day everyday? Also would you say these are good for static colors with no special modes?

Thanks for watching! I'm not sure how long they would last. I do know that LEDs have a very long life span so I would imagine it would be a while. These do get very bright so I think they would work great for just everyday usage as a light source!

Thanks so much for watching! I think these specific light panels you can only connect 1 together. (unless a recent software change come out that i'm not aware of that allows you to connect 2 of these sets together) But I think the new gove hexa 3d panels allow you to connect up to 2 of the sets together. Thanks so much for watching! I'm not aware of being able to program these through a pc. I've always just used my app on the phone or tablet. But maybe someone else might know for sure? Thanks for watching! In this video I'm using WLED to control all my other lights but still switching to the Govee App to control the Hexa lights. Although, the lights in the corner of the room are actually Govee strip lights that I am controlling with WLED. I like the look of these but still think they are to expensive considering they are just LED lights, ok yeah great control for them but a tad to pricey for me

Yeah they are definitely on the expensive side of things for Govee although if you compare them in price with Nanoleaf they are still less expensive. But Govee always seems to be running sales so I'm sure they will have these discounted eventually!

Just MHO: the (impressively flexible) control & layout app is justification for buying these over DIY. I’m a software engineer, I could theoretically write my own app to control a DIY setup, but it would be ridiculously expensive in terms of time. Also, note that the app supports a number of Govee products - so when you want to light ‘em up, it’s one app to control them all. Nice.

They are getting up there for sure. Maybe a new player will enter the scene at a lower price point but tough when no one from what I can tell are close to those 3 from a product standpoint.
