You're right. Folks that get a bunch of snow/ice sticking inside their blowers are the ones that keep them garaged, where it's warmer than the outside temp, then put them to work right away, before they reach ambient temp.

Agree with your statement on snow not sticking to cold snowblower, same with the bucket for moving banks. Only problem I've had with tractor and blower outside is when it warms up and freezes again - can get ice in all the wrong places, I'd keep a heat gun and handy...

Most users do not run the tractor engine at WOT or above 80% wot to ensure the best blower shaft speed. That speed has the biggest effect on discharge. FYI, that blower looks to be performing very well. I really like that chute setup...

Yeah this reminds me of shoveling asphalt. The asphalt sticks to the shovel once your shovel cools down. But if you keep it hot with the torch the asphalt slides right off. It's all about the equipment being similar in temp to what you're working with.

Hi GP! Before I moved to Virginia 2 years ago, I lived in VT. Owning a sub-compact tractor with a snowblower, another thing I used to do was position a small piece of 2x4 under each skid shoe when parking. This prevents it from freezing to the ground, and collecting that occasional chunk of frost that'll build on the bottom where it contacts the ground when not used for some time. I really enjoy your videos, take care!

Hey buddy having that cab is so nice not having to be out in the elements and that'll snow blower is so nice i can't see why people think it to big for your motor sounds like it's having no problem blowing that snow and even in deeper snow I'm sure it's no problem on that motor what a great snow blower. I worked at Wayne State University and i would of loved if we would of had a snow blower like that to use in some areas where a plow was very hard to use do to being so narrow and could of throw the snow off some of the walkways and in other areas. Sitting in that cab is so nice and I'm sure your nice and warm makes that job so much nicer and even relaxing. Love your Kubota tractor and that snow blower. Thanks for the video buddy. Love it.

Hey Gord, it's good to see you blowing snow in 2WD. It just goes to show that nothing beats a good set of chains. My Kubota doesn't even have 4WD but I have good chains like yours and I run a snowblower in 2WD with no issues even though I've heard numerous people say you "need" 4WD over the years. Also, my tractor is about the same hp as yours and I run a 68" blower. It does fine like yours. More hp lets you blow snow at faster speeds but the smaller hp tractors still get the job done.

I'm not sure why people are complaining about HP on your blower. Snowblowers don't really have a solid requirement for HP. If your rpms dip to low, just slow down some. I would be more concerned with how the tractor handles the weight. It looks like a good setup to me. (Despite the orange paint...) Hope you are enjoying!! On a different note, I installed a WiFi plug in my barn for the tractor block heater. Super nice to be able to turn on the heater while I'm at work, and the tractor is warm before I get home. While it's not needed, it definitely is nice, and was cheaper than the electric of leaving it on waiting for a storm.

Gordon, when we are swiveling that chute around and up and down, we ARE just PLAYING with it! I know, 'cause I do exactly the same thing. It is the feeling of POWER under my fingers. And it is a great way to work off anger/frustration/hostility in a harmless manner. When there is no snow, I sometimes go out with the FEL and rear blade, moving some dirt around for the same reason. Hey GP , I have the same Kubota set up as yours and I sure am happy with it . What I find works the best is to take a shovel and smash the windshield out of the cab . Then when blowing snow point the discharge right inside the cab about head level but keep the defroster on high . This melts the snow before it gets to my face and it washes the inside of my cab at the same time . Later when the water freezes on my driveway I sit inside with a nice cup of coffee and watch my kids, the wife, and occassionally the paperboy slip and fall on the ice . Its a really good time . Love your videos, keep up the good work .

I have an M5 and 3/4 mile driveway after 5 years I found the best thing is a 12' tow behind wheeled scraper. It doesn't gouge the road and mess up the gravel. The snow builds up to form a wedge that pushes the snow off to the sides like a v plow. I also use a 3 point 7' rake to groom the gravel.

With a paved driveway, I opted for an HLA 1000 blade with hydraulic angling on my new LX2610. I had an MK Martin 3 point blower on my BX1860. The front blade has been great, except for a storm with over a foot in one night. I've ordered a WoodMaxx SB-60 for the rear of the LX to use for the deeper snows, but expect to continue mostly using the blade to scrape down to the pavement. We have a long, steep driveway up to where the house and barn are. Paving wasn't cheap, but being able to scrape down to the pavement and letting the sun dry it has been great.

Nice video(s)... I just bought the same tractor, but opted for a snow box (pusher) instead, along with the bucket/loader, pallet forks, and a grapple. I would think you'd have a plow too, having such a long driveway: Plow it to the edges, and then run your blower back and forth one time...and blow it into the woods. Basically, just like snow removal on a runway--plow the snow to the edges of the runway, and then blow it outside the runway lights.

congrats on the new tractor Tom! Hope you enjoy it. Appreciate the good suggestion. That setup would work well I think in most cases but in mine, the driveway is tight to the forest line - there is no shoulder to speak of and the ground to the sides of the driveway is rocks and stumps (forest) so I have no where to push and then blow - hope you like the snow box - they look pretty good. Thanks again!

GP, thanks for explaining everything as we all can't read the comments like the producer. However I am amazed when someone says 'that implement is too big...". I think most folks concerns about the blower size wasn't so much how it did on your last snow. It was based on the observation that if it bogs down the tractor that much with the tiny bit of snow you've had so far, what is it going to do if you get a REAL snow? You know, 15-24 inches of heavy stuff as deep as your blower housing is high. That's when you really find out how the drive train handles it. The snow you've had so far could be handled by a garden tractor. I live in N.E. USA and there are times we have snow that is up to my thighs and it really can push equipment to the limits.

Another Informative video Gord. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that tractor blower pairing. It sounds and performs exactly like mine. Said no tractor owner ever "my tractor has too much HP"... Could the B2650 and your LX2610 which are the same machine use more HP for snow...probably. Tractors require HP for two major types of work. Corn, and snow. At the end of the day the extra HP allows you to move the same amount of snow more quickly. For guys like ourselves who arn't using it to do a run of 200 driveways where time is a factor, and using it for personal use only, we simply have to take our foot off the peddle and go a little slower in the deep or heavy stuff to get the same job done. Worse case scenario is we have to spend an extra 10 min in a heated cab listening to the radio in a beautiful setting loving life.

Hello Gord I had a Tektite Cab on the quote for my BX2380 with the commercial blower. I changed my mind trying to save money and what a mistake! We started to get snow early in November last year and being near Lake Superior we seem to always have west winds and squalls. I tried to tough it out without a cab and that only lasted a few weeks before I called the dealer and ordered one up. It was going to have heat, windshield wiper and front and rear LED floodlights. My mom in her nineties hated to see me freezing out there and agreed we needed a cab. I blow the driveways for two elderly ladies across from moms house and two other neighbours and there is always a north or west wind and I would get buried in snow and my glasses would fog and build up with ice! The first time I blew the snow into the wind one morning the windshield filled with snow dust and I remembered I had a wiper and when I hit the switch I laughed at the wind as the wiper cleared the snow that was melting on the heated cab! This past weekend I spent 3 hours on Saturday and 3 1/2 hours on Sunday cleaning out driveways. The Tektite cab was a charm! We got dumped on pretty good in the Soo and the city plows left a 3’ high plow pile at the end of the driveway. The BX2380 handled it no problem. I cleared the driveways once only to see the plow truck make another run and fill the driveways again. No problem I was relaxing in my BX2380 in a heated cab!

Morning O- what a great story. So happy you were able to get the cab! Especially up there in the Sault. I can only imagine how nasty those winds coming off the lakes are for you but having the cab is a game changer. LOL. I had to laugh about the windshield wiper - I did the same thing so many times - I kept forgetting I had one and keep driving with water and snow dripping down the windshield. Congrats on the cab and great to hear you are able to help other folks with the tractor and keep them clear and safe. Cheers!

Good idea to scrape the road with your blade. Prevents a big mess when it warms up and tires start making ruts in the snow base. Then it usually freezes up and then gets difficult to do decent snow removal maintenance, to say nothing about driving over those frozen ruts. I've got a crushed stone driveway, so sometimes I rotate the blade backwards depending on conditions. Would like to see a video of you blading the road. Think you can blade it in 2 wheel drive? Steve from Minnesota

Morning Steve. LOL. Video done and being edited - should be out by mid-week. Did the whole driveway in 2WD except the Steep hill - had to put it into 4WD as the blade started digging down too much. Thanks!

Well honestly where I am from we got the last couple storms. Even better was the fact that we recently took delivery of our LX3310 and LX2980! I have plowed snow for the last 30 years in either open station tractors with an old cable lift and spring trip plow or on ROPS with no cab skidsteers with a bucket. I have moved a ton of snow with those machines. BUT having a nice warm cab is the way to go!!!! In fact after the last storm I was blowing snow and it blew back onto the cab and covered it super quick melted fast with the cab being warm. But I was laughing at the fact that that nasty snow didn't get me in the face. To those who think you need the bigger tractor for the blower...I HAVE the bigger tractor and it will make the exact same sounds if I push it into heavy snow too fast. The dealer is totally correct, just back down the travel speed and/or take a less aggressive amount in the path. Keep on, keepin on GP!!!

GP it sounds like the whining sound of the tractor/hydrostatic is a lot lesser than it was when you first got it home. My John Deere 3025 is two years old and it seems just as loud as ever. Though I've gotten a 100 hours run time. Maybe mine will get a little as i get more hours on it. I hope so. Love your cab.

@@keithnavarro2930 I too like the cold and snow, but honestly, -19 is a bit cold. About 30 years ago, we had a December where we could not shake the cold. The high temps we like 5 degrees and lows -15. Of course I had just purchased an experimental Pitt S1C (single seat airplane), And my good husband flew it back to Maine. I did not know the airplane had no heat so his cross country from Arkansas to Maine was quite the trip. We also did not know where the compass is located is in front of a metal bar. Yup, I owed that man many good steak diners and beers.
