Great video! Fitment looks great. However, I'm curious is there a reason you ran 30mm spacers in the rear (taking off factory spacers) but ran 20mm spacers in the front stacking on top of the factory spacer? Couldn't you have just ran 30mm spacer on both the front/rear after taking off factory spacer? Or run 20mm spacers on front/rear by stacking on top of the factory spacer?

What is the wheel and tire size you mount on these spacers? Do you have to align the wheels to keep from rubbing?
@vrsaceimg
@vrsaceimg 6 ай бұрын
These are the stock wheels and they measure 18x8.5 +30 offset. You don’t need an alignment after just the spacers only if you did the Eibach springs with it like I did. The spacers widen the track to get the look and fitment I want.

Doing this exact setup here in a few weeks, did you find the fender tuck difficult?
@vrsaceimg
@vrsaceimg 7 ай бұрын
Super easy. Pop the clips that hold the liner to the fender, tuck the fender liner above the tabs that the clips pop into. Gives you plenty of clearance for a more aggressive spec tire or whatever you want to do!

@vrsaceimg

The best way I can explain it: my evo was a sharp old kitchen knife. My GR is a surgical scalpel. Power is very similar to a stock evo but with all of the bells and whistles of a brand new car. Just the spacers and not installing lowering springs would not cause you to rub at all. I have my Regamasters that I will put tires on come spring so I plan on this to be the first phase of the car. This is to hold me over the winter to achieve the fitment I want.

Any idea if the stud length is longer than OEM? They seem longer in the video but it's hard to tell. OEM studs are super short and I want to make sure I'm going to get enough thread engagement on aftermarket wheels.
@lannym
@lannym 3 ай бұрын
I would skip spacers in general if going to aftermarket rims. Just get rims with the proper offset. The spacers here are a good solution to flush out the factory rims. They appear to have short studs that are only going to work with OEM GR wheels and the OEM shanked lug nuts. Bonoss will make any spacer you want though - you can spec width, you can spec centerbore (so there would be no need to run centering rings) you can choose stud length and pitch, you could even change bolt pattern.
@Conn0rKent
@Conn0rKent 3 ай бұрын
@lannym I'm trying to use a set of wheels from a previous car for my summers but they've got an offset difference of about 20mm so I was thinking spacers were the way to go. Unfortunately the OEM lug length has me all sorts of confused, might just need to do some more research on my end for a solution. Anyway, I appreciate the reply!
@vrsaceimg
@vrsaceimg 3 ай бұрын
The studs are slightly longer than the OEM fronts. I would say 3mm barely anything but still enough to mount a wheel. I agree with Lannym on aftermarket wheels and spacers. Pick the right offset in the beginning.

@vrsaceimg
@vrsaceimg 7 ай бұрын
I had the same problem. Lots of popping and creaking noises when I first installed them. The fronts are really tricky to make sure they stay together. There’s an angled plastic piece that the top hat sits on and you HAVE to make sure that piece sits right. The trick for me was to leave the three top hat nuts completely loose so the tension doesn’t pull those pieces apart. Make sure you set the car on the ground to keep the spring pressure and keep everything aligned THEN tighten the three top hat nuts under the cowl. Super PITA but it completely fixed mine.

@vrsaceimg
@vrsaceimg 6 ай бұрын
I do have wider wheels and thicker tires that will go on the car in the spring. For now, the spacers are used for a wider track width on the stock wheels and tires. I’ve never had an issue running spacers. Every spacer horror story has been a result of not torquing to spec or not using proper equipment. With proper hub-centric spacers that fit, they are perfectly safe for use.
