Welcome to Episode 2 of our GR Corolla Vlog series!
This episode is all about prepping our GR Corolla for its first Time Attack event at Mid Ohio with the ‪@Gridlife‬ Club TR racing series.
We talk about all the things we do get the car ready which are all valuable things for anyone wanting to track their GR Corolla and have a good time.

Just got a GR this week. I love racing at Mid-Ohio. Used to be my home track. Most the mods sound good. You are running both the stock and aftermarket spacers in the rear? That's a bit scary. That's with long studs too ya? I assume wheels with the proper offset aren't available? For brake pads, Pagid are what all the Porsche guys run, but are mighty expensive last I looked. I've had great success with Porterfields "house" pads (R4). The Corolla has massive brakes for its size, and doesn't need anything super fancy. Even the stock pads work pretty well on track. For really heavy duty braking, I like the Raebestos ST43 (in the front, and the R4 in the rear) which wear great and work great from the very first stop.

That's the plan! We have Heartland Motorsports in Topkea coming up next and then we'll head to Laguna for that event!

Keep these coming. Would like to see what you offer in the future for a well developed oil cooler kit and track focused ecu tuning. I recently took my GRC out for its first track day and I definitely can see how much potential it has, but you are addressing all the small things I noticed as well.

Thanks! Going to work on more videos once we’re back from Cali. We took the car to Laguna Seca and now we’re spending some time out here. We’re definitely working on the track tuning and hope to wrap up the oil cooler kit soon as we can also.

That's a secret! JK, it is the 25 row guy in there but we're going to be doing a full kit with bolt-on brackets, ducting, pre made crimped lines and the sandwich plate included to offer an easy kit but of course, its not hard to DIY if you know what you are doing.

Are you talking about the temp sensor in the power transfer unit? All we did there is put some DEI fire sleeve around it. I used the one that has a Velcro seam and then added some zip ties.

So +38 wheels that are more or less +18 because of the spacers. I'd like to know if you had any rubbing and see it down on the ground for the visual of how they sit on the car...flush, inside, outside of the fender lip.

Exactly. I’d like to get some 18x9.5 +18 on here, upgrade the wheel studs and ditch the spacers but I had these wheels already so we used them for now. Didn’t have any issues with rubbing, even on the track. I’ll see if I can send some pics to you.
