Gransfors make a maul for splitting, the felling axe is designed to be a chopper, hence no collar.

looks to me like the factory edge is far too convex, hence why the axe doesnt bite and glances/scoops a lot

@@NorthernWoodsmanElite its a shame because i can see you have good skill at chopping but the axe is holdimg you back. With a thinner flatter grind you would be destroying that log. Do you have abelt sander? Would not take long to fix

The gba axes are very hard to sharpen after a couples years of use if you want a razor sharp again
