This video shows how I cut each square in preparation for joining them together.

Hi Sharon. Can I ask if the vertical joining strips @ 2.31 are sewn all the way down in one piece from top to bottom or do they only cover each set of designs being joined. I can see the horizontal joining strips are in one piece. I ask because I have seen other quilters leave a gap at both ends of the squares when sewing the vertical strips. Perhaps to eliminate bulk where they cross over?

Hi there, I use full strips both vertically and horizontally. Although it is possible to break them up if I don't have long enough strips, I then need to be very careful lining them up so I avoid dog legs in the underneath pieces.
