Thank you so much for sharing....I think a lot of times (at least in certain circles) stay at home moms or homeschool moms are looked down on by society and we don’t really take the time to realize that we are good at our “job.” God has given you a wonderful talent and I appreciate so much you using it to bless others.

My secret is self care. On days that I'm rested amd well fed, I homeschool very well. On days I neglect my own needs because I'm stressed about homeschooling, I'm less productive. That goes for the kiddos too. Let them rest and feed them healthy food. It makes a big difference!

I take homeschooling very seriously too 🙌 consistency and rhythms are key to successful and lower stress days. Not that there never are but it cuts it down tremendously. When kiddos know expectations and have familiar days it just gives a safety and security for them. Great advice!!!!!

I love that you are a seasoned homeschool mom, you have some awesome insight, and I have already began my "mom binder" for our future planning into high school. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We too have a "routine" we don't have a set "time" of schooling but we have a routine of which subjects are done when, this helps so much with the children understanding what needs to be done daily.

I enjoyed this video! Well thought out and inspirational. Sometimes I downplay what I do or the importance of my prep time. Over time, I'm getting over that! I'm also glad to be over the point where I lacked confidence... it just takes time to build, especially as a person who'd never considered homeschooling, until I had a 4 year old I didn't want to sign up for kindergarten 😄

I'm really appreciative of your channel and content. This is my first year homeschooling but not because of the pandemic. It was the plan all along before our first child was ever born. We just got to start with the whole world as well 🤣 It's been a journey and I do feel called to this. I really resonate with everything you say and our approaches are similar. I love getting a "sneak peek" into what homeschooling is like down the road (yes, I know it won't look the exact same 😅). All that to say, thank you for the work that you do in your home and on KZfaq to help others. It is impacting your family tree generationally as well as multiple homes across the globe ❤️

I love your advice to take some time for yourself and your hobbies and taking care of yourself. I think with all the research that initially goes into schedules and curriculum and state laws, etc etc, it can be very easy to lose yourself in all of that. We have been homeschooling for 15+ years. We are also a foster family for infants and toddlers. We often have 2 littles under the age of 2 along with our 4 bio sons and 1 soon to be adopted special needs son. I find myself truly struggling to juggle it all. Putting school off until late in the day has become the norm. Trips to and from CPS are frequent and required along with home visits and meetings. Both homeschooling and foster care are our family's calling without a doubt. We just need to find a way to make them coexist and to do them both to the glory of the Father. Your tips are exactly what I needed to hear today. Thank you for sharing your heart on this.

I've recently was sent one of your videos and have loved your channel ever since! You say you prepare the night before for the upcoming day... would you be willing to do like a night time routine video that shows how you prepare for the next day? (in regards to getting things ready for school, etc.). This video was very convicting in that I do need to pray and ask the Lord to help me find the joy in homeschooling... I was never exposed to homeschooling before having children, but where we live, homeschooling is the only viable option and I so want to love and enjoy it. But the days can be hard. Thanks for all the encouragement you often share!

I definitely needed to hear this. This is our first year homeschooling like so many families. I have not made it the priority it should be, thinking doing it in the afternoon would be a good idea because I’m not a huge morning person and I’m pregnant with our 5th. Instead I think it’s made it easier to just not do it most days. I’m supremely grateful for a husband that has been patient and understanding during this time. I’ve never been a schedule oriented person even when I was in the Marine Corps. I think it’s time to change that. I will be book marking this video to come back to. Love your channel ❤️

It is an immense privilege to teach our children and have resources at our disposal to make it easier. I work just about full time and have 4 kids, 3 homeschooled (grades 3, 7, and 9). Our little one experiences a lot of suffering and sometime unexpected things arise that need to be prioritized. Being prepared and having a plan allows me to delegate and the kids know what’s next with their list. The kids enjoy the rhythm and meeting the expectations of the day. And flexibility is key when it isn’t overused. Great video and good tips! As a working mom for 15 years I agree with all you said!

Wonderful video I needed to hear. I have called myself a “reluctant homeschooling mom” since I began during the pandemic and due to a cross-country move. Now I know the Lord is calling me to uplevel and take it seriously, as it is a calling, and I’m called to it for the next couple years. Hearing you say it’s a privilege and you have to really articulate your “why” so that it positively infiltrates your homeschooling was very convicting/helpful. I’m excited the Lord led me to your channel. ❤️

Excellent advice! I needed to hear this, thank you. Homeschooling has been very challenging for me these past months due to a difficult pregnancy. I have felt like I’ve lost my motivation, passion and routine which made me feel so discouraged and unaccomplished. I just recently, nearing the end of my pregnancy, am looking for and finding my “mojo” again and it feels good to have instances when I’m in my element. Homeschooling sure is a stewardship to the Lord and it’s important to do it well. Again, thank you for sharing. You’re playing a part in restoring my motivation as I have also been watching your other videos. May God continue to bless your dedication and stewardship over your kids, life and most importantly Jesus.

This was such a great video! You are an amazing homeschool teacher and mom! You inspire and encourage me each time I watch your videos! Can you share or do you currently have any videos that show your exact routine or dos and dont's of each week to help the flow of your weeks run so smoothly (rules on screen time during the week, do you all get outside each day, do you have a time frame on when you start school, eating times and when you end, what your expectations are each morning from your children before the day starts, how you fit school, your chores and time for yourself into each day)? I have a 6 year old, 5 year old and 3 year old and it has been so hard for me to feel like I am having any productive homeschool days. What helped you when your kids were younger with issues like wanting to play all day, them wanting screen time more than I want or just making sure they are having fun and enjoying school? I feel like I am failing at all of these things even though I try very hard to be organized and plan. Thank you again for being so open and honest with us all! I look forward to your videos and they really help push me and get me to get back up again and try again!

Love this! You inspire me, having a hard time with my first year of homeschool. I have a 3 year old rambunctious boy and 6 six year old daughter who was in pre-k and missed the uniformity of school. Would love to see your tips on how to balance young ones and get them excited in school with such short attention spans. I am not a planner by nature and struggle with household chores and balancing school. Your video was so helpful and would love to see more.

Same! I have a six year old daughter that loved Christian pre-K, and has had to transition to school at home with a 3 year old sibling that doesn’t want anything to do with anything non-Barbie play or free play, and she sabotaged our homeschooling for months. I felt like I could either homeschool well, or take care of the house and our life, but not both. I’m still learning and asking the Lord for help! Now that my 3 year old is turning 4, it’s getting much better. Now it’s ME who needs to be changed and more structured/organized for our homeschool to go well. 🙏 Sending empathy!
