Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I just in the last week was eligible for monetization. you absolutely have to enjoy making videos to be successful with this. Sharing your videos on Instagram and Facebook are a big help just to let people know that you exist. It took me a little over two years to get to this point. I think I could have been there sooner but life throws you curveballs once in a while, and other things come up that are more important.. I basically took a year off only throwing out one or two videos in that time which really plateaued my channel. thanks again

Thank you for sharing Grace! There's some really helpful tips in there. I agree you have to like the process, as it is soo time consuming, but it's all worth it when you can look back at your adventure memories. Plus, learning a new skill is always fun!

Much appreciated Grace. I'll be honest, I really couldn't tell you (oft times) what makes me watch a video...or not. I don't ever anticipate deciding to ever have channel. I'm sure it makes the hike/trip like twice as long ! But appreciate the work you do, as who knows when I'll get to your part of the world. Best !

Thank you for this!!! I have a question, I have a KZfaq channel that has been pretty dormant for around 10 years but I reached 1000 subscribers on it, would you recommend using that channel and taking it in a new direction (potentially losing subscribers because it’s not the same content) or starting from scratch? Thank you again, love the videos! Tilly x

Thanks Grace, really interested in how you start working with brands? What’s more lucrative for your channel ad revenue or brand deals?
@GracesAdventures
@GracesAdventures Жыл бұрын
They just start approaching once your channel gets to a certain point and seems profitable. More consistent from brand work than ad revenue for me at the moment.

Thank you for the insight. Learnt so much from this video. I was wondering what size in Gb is an average video of yours for let’s say 15min. I am going to buy an iPad to use IMovie but not sure what size storage device to buy and it’s a lot of money to waste if it’s not fit for purpose. Any help would be appreciated.

Great advice. It takes a huge amount of effort to put out consistently good content, the great thing about KZfaq is you are directly rewarded for that effort because it is a business partnership with KZfaq.
@karyleianawildernesscapes
@karyleianawildernesscapes Жыл бұрын
12:56 Actually this is no longer the case. KZfaq sent out emails about a month ago to everyone that has a YT channel saying that they're launching "Handles" & now anyone can choose their unique URL (aka Handle). No longer required to have 1k subs. I'd amend the "get lots of b-roll" to: be PURPOSEFUL with the b-roll. Just speaking from my photography niche, I've come to dislike b-roll of photogs setting up their tripods, for instance. Especially when they're NOT talking about the scene or giving tips. It's just 20 secs-1+mins of them setting up a tripod with music dubbed over...every time they set up 🙃. It quickly gets old. So yes, get "filler b-roll" to "bulk up" videos -- as watch time matters -- but make sure it has a purpose, showcases the scene/narrative, etc.
@GracesAdventures
@GracesAdventures Жыл бұрын
Good to know regarding the handles! Yes I agree regarding the b-roll having purpose but when you’re a complete beginner you just need the practice of capturing lots of different footage and having plenty to play with.

@@GracesAdventures thanks! Some really great advice in this video. Especially filming everything - better to have 10 clips and only use 5, than have 4 clips and really need that 5th one! On a side note, we all get URL's now - no matter how many subscribers. They implemented the changes a couple of weeks ago, and it's slowly rolling out to everyone right now.

Really great info and inspiring. I'm practicing your advice on my little channel (jeepNdirt) but really just doing it for fun and trying to look as professional as possible. I'm more of the idea that if I get one view or thousands it doesn't matter. If I helped at least one person get out there and enjoy their off road adventure the I've served them. God Bless you and thanks for the feedback you left on my channel the other day.

Grace, I needed to get in touch to say thank you. I watched this video last year and you are the main reason I have started my vloging journey on KZfaq, Instagram and TikTok. I'm a teacher who spends all day talking to kids and after getting a gopro hero 11 for my birthday I thought it'd be easy to get started. Talking to a camera is a whole different thing. I was fluffing my words and couldn't get across what I wanted to say. I was tough. I couldn't understand it. I could've given up if it hadn't been for this video. I'm still not uber confident in what I'm producing but I know I'm improving. Anyway, thanks again I look forward to seeing more from you. Thanks for giving me confidence. G, @redmanwalking74 ❤
