Can be class against fellow teenagers but when you play against experienced professionals with years of experience at the top level it’s a different game. A lot of players I played with and against who were the “stars” of our Saturday league teams and went to academies now work a regular 9-5.

I knew at the time hardly any of these players would go on to have careers at the very top. In this country the public and media love to suffocate anyone with talent (especially young people) and then blame the person for failing.

When you see a u17 national team winning the world cup you would at least expect them to make an England senior appearance. From this team only 5 of them made a senior appearance and 3 of them where in the bench in this tournament. That's a bit sad. I think the only one other that has a chance to make an appearance is Gibbs-white to make it 6.
