It's always weird when people think Colorado is too cold. It's sunny most of the year. The winters are cold, but not nearly as bad along the front range as up in the mountains. Most of the year is pretty mild. Summers are hot, but without the humidity that you find in the east and south the temps aren't as unbearable.

Please do not apologize for making the video longer by talking. It's why we are here is to hear you take on the video. We enjoy spending time with you and the family. I am just speaking for me but spending time watching you and your family be together and enjoying these videos makes it a little easier when missing my family. I know all the cold weather would seem depressing but when you live in the mountains you come to realize none of the other seasons would exist without winter. No winter, no water.

I live in Colorado we average 300 days a year of sunshine, not cold like you think.

I think y'all should definitely consider Colorado. I went there on a two weeks long road trip and I went fishing in one of the rivers. My dad caught some fish and while we were fishing there were four bald eagles flying over us which is something we have never seen. Y'all would love it!

Your daughter said her dream is to attend an American university. The University of Colorado is in Boulder which is on this list 😊

I have been in Colorado for 17 yrs now. I live just outside of Colorado Springs. We have the mountains to the west and grasslands to the east. This winter happens to be pretty cold, but at this point, the whole country is feeling the artic blast. Last winter was actually warmer than usual. We do get snow, but for the most part, it doesn't stay for too long. Currently it's 27 F and I was outside in jeans, t-shirt and a sweatshirt. The sun is shinning, no wind and it feels warmer than what the thermometer says. A few things about Colorado. We have hot springs, sand dunes and lots of mountains for skiing. You can go fishing, hunting and also swimming in the lakes. If you are too hot you can always drive up into the mountains to cool off on a nice hike.

"In the winter it looks depressing". That's why you go crazy with the Christmas lights.

You worry about the cold. Disregard air temperature. If the sun is out, which it is more often than not, add 10 C to air temp listed. I grew up in the Midwest and the increase in altitude can easily be felt with the strength of the sun. Plus almost half the states population is in Denver metro/Boulder area. It's a big empty state for the most part, And absolutely beautiful everywhere.

I grew up west of Colorado Springs in a small town named Divide. Its a dry cold, no humidity to speak of. I lived in the region for 30 years. There's so much outdoors stuff to do from fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, mountain climbing, etc. I believe the ladies would enjoy Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs (quaint shopping). I don't have the time or the space here to talk about all the things to do

It’s actually very similar to Slovakia in terms of weather, just drier and higher and sunnier in the winter. When my friends and family visit they always mention it. Also, my family mountain house I’ve mentioned you can all stay in is 30 mins away from Breckenridge. 😊

I'm kind of surprised that Durango isn't on the list. I went there years ago and loved it...

Ouray is named after the chief of the Mountain Ute Indian tribe. Alfred Packer was known by Ouray. Look up Alfred Packer to find out who he was, it's very interesting.

I’ve lived in Colorado 22 years :) we’re not terribly cold. Most winter days are sunny. Summers do get hot, though!!!

My grandma lived in Telluride in the 70s before she moved to Florida. Her old 2bed, 1bathroom family home sold recently for $960,000. That place is crazy expensive hahaha.

I live on the high plains of Colorado, East of Colorado Springs, at 6500f/1981m msl, in a small town of 800 ish. It has been as low as -15f/-26c in the last week, but it's usually not that cold. During the summer if it gets 90f/32c, you'd think you'd relocated to Hell. However, if you step into the shade, it's fine. Waiting on the Graham's to visit.

I used to work in pipeline construction. I stayed in Glenwood Springs Colorado for a little over three months. The motel I stayed in overlooked the hot spring pool. Not sure about now, but back then it was the largest hot spring pool in the world. People swim in the pool even when it is snowing. If you go to Glenwood Springs, go in the summer. The weather is great. The average temperature during the summer is 85f with no humidity. It is very comfortable, not cold. Winter is not the time to go to Colorado unless you are going to ski. If you like fishing, there are numerous places to fish for trout.

I live in Colorado, and it's beautiful. It has the absolute best weather in America. Winters are usually not as bad as people think, and the rest of the year , it's second to none

I’m a Colorado Native, born and raised! All the towns are Beautiful, but they are also what we here call “Tourist Traps”. They have shown all the towns in the “off season”. Mostly in the summer months, these towns are so crowded. There are so many more towns to visit that, in my opinion, are much more beautiful. There are hidden gems all over Our State. Almost every county has a County Fair full of entertainment. There are also Festivals in the lower towns that are filled with Food, Music, Coffee and Beer Gardens, not to mention a lot of kid friendly activities. Colorado isn’t as cold as people think. We have our snowy months, sometimes our seasons are cold and sometimes mild. Also, I watched the Sitka Ranch video in Montana. If You think Colorado is cold, spend a Winter in Montana. Colorado will feel like a vacation in Hawaii! 😁😁😁 Love Your Channel, I just subscribed.

BTW, Telluride and Ouray are very close to each other and you access both basically from the same highway (HWY 50/550). Plus, don't forget the "Million Dol;l;ar Highway." Also, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado have 58 peaks that exceed 14,000 feet (4267 meters) in elevation, locally called the14ers!

I live in Longmont, Colorado. (just north of #8 Boulder) It's not that cold here, you'd love it. :) The best thing is that if you like the snow then you can drive 30 mins or so up the mountains to get the snow.... OR... you can stay in town and just see the snow from a distance. we get maybe 4 big snow falls per year, but they all go away quickly because of the dry climate.

The huge white hotel in Estes Park is the hotel in the movie The Shining.

All of southwestern Colorado and the Four Corners Region are pretty cool. It's a very dry cold, we can shovel snow in shorts and t-shirts. 300+ sunny days a year.

I live in Loveland Colorado and it’s cold at night in Winter or if it snows (there are snow days now and then) but Colorado gets 300 days of Sunshine and Summers can be toasty but dry. I love living here! It’s truly beautiful!

People think it's cold because many photos are when it's snowy. I live next to the mountains and in the last year there were only about 60 days that you couldn't golf. It's BEAUTIFUL here!

Colorado also has some of the best white water rafting in the country. Well worth the ride. And it's not really that cold most of the time. Winter gets cold yeah but spring and autumn are downright pleasant and it still gets hot in summer.

I had the same misconception about the cold before I moved to CO. As a transplant from the northeast, I find CO weather a lot more bearable

when I was younger I liked to snow ski at "Ski Cooper" Colorado. It was cheap, uncrowded, and had nice slopes, but that was 20 yrs ago. It was where the America trained solders how to ski for WW2, At night we stayed in Leadville CO.

I love Colorado! For a few years, we would ski at Winter Park and Breckinridge. This summer I will be driving from Brownsville, Texas to Durango, to ride on the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge RailRoad, for my 80th birthday! And Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful. There are many small towns that have a long history of gold and silver mining.

I was born in Colorado in Aurora. Estes Park is one my favorite place to go. But now I live in Idaho but it's not to far to travel.

We are in the heart of the Silicon Valley. There are many different residents from around the world who moved here. Consequently, we can find plenty of "international" restaurants. In addition to the more common American, Mexican, Italian, Indian and Asian restaurants, you can find restaurants from other parts of the world. There are Polish, Hungarian, Basque, Portuguese, French and Scandinavian restaurants nearby. In some states, there are high concentrations of ethnic groups -- Czechs, Slavs, Germans, Ukrainian, etc. We like to frequent those restaurants when we're in those areas. People often pay higher prices just to sample the dishes from other areas around the world! If you opened a restaurant in the U.S., it would likely be very well received!

Grew up in Colorado. That's a good list. If you are not into skiing, Colorado is fantastic in the summer in the mountains to get away from the heat and do hiking, rafting, fishing, or other outdoor activities.

The climate east of the Rockies is classified as an upper sonoran desert. The front range gets very little precipitation. Pueblo, where I grew up, only gets about 10-15 inches of precipitation per year. The air is dry year round, providing cool nights even in the summer when daytime temps exceed 40C. If you go,try to go late may or early June. For me one of the prettiest drives in Colorado is the drive from Salida to Buena Vista in late spring when the valley is green and full of wild flowers. To the west there are the collegiate mountains, named after famous US universities. On the east is the Arkansas river which usually runs full in late spring early summer. Absolutely gorgeous!

From someone who is born and raised in Colorado, and lived in Texas for several years. Give me Colorado any day! Colorado has over 300 days a year of sunshine, that's almost as much as Florida. Also we have a dry climate, So you can sit outside in the summer and you won't perspire from just sitting. Yes Colorado can get snowy and cold, like over the last few days our temperature didn't get above -1F(-18C), we were like that for 3-5 days and then it cleared out and the temperature went right back up to 32F(0C), and right now at 11:30pm its 38F(3C) and by this weekend we will be back to 55F(11-12C) so it's not too bad. One thing they didn't tell you is that a lot of those mountain towns have a lot of celebrities living there. Like the last town in the video, Telluride. Last I remember Ralph Lauren (yes that Ralph Lauren, creator of Polo) owed a large piece of land, and his neighbor was Oprah (until she sold her property).If you watch the movie "The Hateful Eight" (not appropriate for the kids, its a Quentin Tarantino movie), that movie was filmed in and around Telluride, and there's a snowstorm in it and that is not CGI, that was an actual storm that they incorporated into the movie.

My oldest brother lives in Colorado. Winters there are hard and lasts around six months there. And depending on the snowfall it's not uncommon to be snowed in for a week or two at a time definitely not a good place to live for anyone who gets cabin fever easily.

I lived in Colorado Springs for six years. Really enjoyed it. I am NOT a skier, but there are so many other things to do. My hobby there was fishing in the mountains. Crystal clear mountain water, with lot's of trout! I also rode my motorcycle thru the mountains (NOT in the winter mths!), with breathtaking views all around. And that is not an exaggeration!

I'm a native Coloradoan and I'm glad to see others curious about our beautiful state. We actually have more days of sunshine and it rarely gets unbearable cold.

One thing to remember about Colorado is it is the highest state in altitude of any state and that’s before you go into the mountains. We have thinner but dryer air. Plus, we have a lot of sunshine all year long. Crested Butte is probably the best one you can go to affordable and beautiful A lot of those little towns that he mentioned are pretty expensive.

I love living here. I spend 7 months each year in Cedaredge Colorado (Western Slope) and the other 5 months on my sailboat. You and your family would love both !

The temperature in the first city, Glenwood Springs, was 8 degrees F, or -13 C, this morning. It's relatively dry on the east side of the Rocky Mountains as the prevailing westerly winds cause the rains and snow to fall on the west side of or in the mountains themselves.

My ex and I went on a trip to Colorado and Garden of the gods was absolutely beautiful. I have videos of me sitting on the rocks while my boyfriend at the time climbed on everything. Estes park was also great. All of the buildings are really short, it’s surrounded by mountains, and right by the shining hotel. It had a very eerie feeling.

Fun fact about Telluride (#1): you can drive for a little over two hours and visit the Four Corners Monument, which is the only location in the United States where four states intersect one another (Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah).

Colorado Springs is my favorite place to live. I lived there for many years, and just recently had to move away to a lower elevation for my health, so I moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I still have two daughters who live in the Springs

Colorado is not cold all year long. We do have cold winters but not all winter long. The winters are bareble. The snow melts quickly. Because we are so high in elevation, we have mostly sunshine. Coloradians love life in the outdoors. With the exception of ski resorts, our Mountain towns are usually small and A lot of residense leave for the winter and Most businesses close. The red rocks you're seeing is Garden of The Gods. The outdoor activities are so numerous there is always fun things to do year round.

Most people live around the Denver area, and its a huge misconception that Colorado is cold most of the year when we have 300 days of sunshine (its very hot here). Unless you live in the mountains it's not that cold compared to other states. Also when it snows usually the snow is gone by the next day or next few days! 😄

I think y'all would enjoy seeing the Biltmore house, it's the largest Private home in America, it's located in Asheville NC !

Granted, Denver & surroundings are the furthest West I've ever been. But I've been to every state East of the Mississippi, and Colorado is easily the prettiest state I've seen! Greetings from St Louis, Missouri

January and February are cold..the rest of the year is very comfortable.. Colorado has perfect summers..very warm but almost zero humidity.

I had a boss once who bought a house in Vail where you could go out the back door and up to one of the ski lifts with a short walk. He bought it in the early 70s for about $15k when almost no one lived there and sold it around 2010 for over $10 million and the new owner ripped it down and built a giant new house.

Been to all of these. They are as shown in the video. Beautiful. I started going to Colorado at a very early age to ski. My parents had a condo at Winter Park, a big ski area. I went to college in Denver and lived there for many years. I was a part time ski instructor for awhile. The weather is great. Denver doesn't get a lot of snow. It falls mostly in the mountains. The humidity is very low so temps are very tolerable. The old mining ghost towns are fun to visit. I've been to many of them. Definitely need a 4 wheel drive for that and be prepared to hike a lot. One thing people don't factor in is altitude. Denver is the "Mile High City". If you're not used to altitude it can take a few days to get acclimated to it. Especially if you're traipsing around in the mountains. If you're in the Denver area during the summer and can take in a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater do it. It's in the foothills just west of Denver. I worked for one of the biggest concert promoters in the country from the late '70s through the '80s that was based in Denver. We did the "Summer of Stars" concert series there every year. Just to give an example of what a show is like at that venue take a look at the vids from U2, "Under a Blood Red Sky" video that was shot there. I worked that and many, many others, practically lived there in the summer. It's not a cold as it looks. Ouray sits at about 8000ft elevation, so you're closer to the sun than you think. There is a day every year in April when people ski in bikinis and shorts because at high elevations it can get very warm. It's sunny most of the year in Colorado.

If you don't like snow the last one Telluride is not for you. Best bets are cities along the front range. Even when it snows it doesn't usually stay on the ground long, at least some years.

I live a little over an hour from Ouray Colorado, near Durango Colorado. I've lived all over the US, but this is by far my favorite. I've also lived in Colorado Springs and Denver. Colorado Springs is where my family is all from. Garden of the Gods is really cool. I used to go there all the time wandering around. The winters aren't really too bad here in Durango. Maybe I'm just used to it. We get a lot of sun still and nice days. I go fishing all through the winter. Not ice fishing, river fishing. Ouray gets a lot more snow though. I'm not sure I'd want to live there through the winter. They get cut off some winters too because of avalanches, so no one can get in or out for weeks.

I've lived in Colorado for 50 years and have been to all the places in that video more than once. Trust me when i say there are many more that didn't make that list. That is a road you see on the side of that wall in Telluride. It's called Black Bear Pass. It will take you over to Ouray but trust, it is a jeep eater and not for the faint of heart or inexperienced off-roaders. Lots of videos on KZfaq and you should watch some. Actually it is a one way from Ouray towards Telluride because there is no room to get past other vehicles.

Traffic here in Colorado varies depending on the time of year. During tourist season, it's obviously a lot worse. It also depends on where in Colorado you are. Denver is obviously a nightmare. So is Colorado Springs. But on your way up to Buena Vista, it can be fairly peaceful.

I’ve traveled to a handful or two of states. One of my top favorite states is Colorado. I went to Red Rock, it was AMAZING! I didn’t get to catch a concert there but it would no doubt be awesome. I went in the mountains as well. It’s like a whole other world. Another surprisingly gorgeous state is Oregon, a few friends from high school moved there and it’s stunning. Highly recommend looking up their parks, waterfalls and hot springs.

I live here in Colorado and have had fantastic experiences in all of these places. When you talked about hiking I started this message. Look up Barr Trail up Pikes Peak or check out the keyhole route up Longs Peak. Each and every one of these are great visits.

Thanks for showing our state guys; been to all the towns on your list. I've lived in south central Colorado for the past 38 years now. It's actually high desert (5000 ft/1524 meters) elevation where I live, not all that much snow in winter. Also, views of over 100 miles of mountain ranges. I would say the biggest negative for Colorado residence now is the high cost of homes for those new to the market. Still a great vacation destination...

There is one thing that the poster forgot to tell you, high altitudes, and how if you come from a lower altitude, it is difficult to breathe because your body has to adjust to breathing less oxygen.

Crested Butte has some amazing scenery. I have some great memories from my visits there.

Ice climbing isn't so bad, especially if you're on top rope. You all are right about Colorado Springs though, we (yeah, I live here) are in what is called a high plains desert. We sit over a mile, or roughly 2,000 meters, above sea level here in town and it is dry most of the year.

Almost every town featured in this video are for the weather and super wealthy, especially Telluride. The actor from Yellowstone, Kevin Costner has a ranch there.

Ouray has some pretty hard winters. We lived in Loveland for 8 yrs on the Front Range. With low humidity you don't feel the cold like you do elsewhere. One winter I never even wore my winter coat. It could be in the 30's F and I'd go to the store and back home without putting a coat on.

I've lived in Colorado for the last 12 years. Every day you step out and see the mountains, you can't help but smile. Colorado gets 300+ days of sunshine every year. Much of the State is High Desert climate which means low humidity. Heat doesn't feel as hot and cold doesn't feel as cold. World class hiking, climbing, spelunking, biking, rafting, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, hunting, fishing and camping as widely available sources of entertainment. Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets and Rapids have all won Championships in Football, Hockey, Basketball and Soccer/Futbol in recent history. Garden of the Gods is a large Nature Center on land donated under the condition that it would forever be a nature preserve for all to enjoy for free, in perpetuity.

I am originally from New Mexico. The area I am from has all four seasons and is higher in elevation then the town I live in now. I live in Northern Colorado. It is cold here. Colder than the town I grew up in. We had a low of -17 degrees F in January. We had a high of -12 that day. The summers are hot. There is no such thing as Autumn in the area I live in. It goes from winter to a short spring into summer and then right back to winter. Durango, Idaho Springs, and Estes Park are some of the most beautiful towns I have ever seen in Colorado. I haven't seen them all though. Ouray Colorado is pronounced yur-ay. I have never heard anyone call it ooray. It is also beautiful as well as Silverton. The State is gorgeous but really expensive. Don't be fooled by the video. The traffic is crazy here. Different times of the year, bring different amounts of people. Weather, it is skiing or hiking and camping. The state is usually pretty busy. I'm a 4th generation native of Colorado. My paternal great grandmother was one of the first children born in the state. My children are 5th generation and my grandchildren are 6th generation natives. I now live in Tennessee and will never go back to the state of my birth,too many California transplants have ruined the true beauty of the state. It is, however, a beautiful place to visit for people new to the area. I agree with all of the places mentioned in the video.

It's cold IN THE WINTER. Remember, there are 3 other seasons in the year!! Colorado can get very hot in the summer!!

The prices for a ranch will be much higher than Texas, and **astronomical** in some of these towns. The eastern third of the state is high plains and much cheaper, but 30-90 minutes from the foothills of the Rockies.

I was born and raised near Ouray and, although the narrator was from Colorado, he mispronounced the name, Ouray. I was born and raised near Ouray and the locals pronounce the name "You-ray". The town is named after a Ute Tribe chief who lived in the late 1800s and the Ute tribe wandered all over western and southwestern Colorado. Visits to some of the remote caves in the area will still have signs of the Ute's activities in them.

I can't explain, but ice climbing is a bucket list thing. Which means I should go very soon. lol

Telluride has some nice music festivals throughout the year.

The town was named Breckenridge because they wanted to get on the Mail route. The US vice president at the time was John Breckenridge…. so they figured it would get them on the route. The only reason I know this is because my name is John Breckenridge.

I dont' care that your family expresses themselves during the videos, that is part of the whole experience. I have never been to Colorado, so, it was interesting to see. I live in Michigan, so, if I move, it will be somewhere without snow. Why? because we get snow caused by the lakes, so, 12 inches/1 foot of snow or more can fall near the lakes. The UP or upper peninsula generally gets the most snow of course, being so close to Canada.

First off, I love watching your videos! If you ever want to know how cold the winter is in a town just look up the address of the post office, copy the zip code, look up, USDA climate map, it should offer you to put in a zip cod if not keep looking at others on the other options on the other search results. Paste the zip code and click search and it will same some the like 6 or 6a or 6b. I live in a 6b zone which means our average coldest days are minus -10F. i believe the usa goes from zone 3 to zone 11. It does come in handy if you plan a winter trip. Yes, you 2 will have to keep an eye on the kids in Colorado, bears, moose and elk will be more than happy to injure or kill you or your kids esp. if they have babies!

Vail is so expensive. My uncle had a condo there. Even fast food is at least double the price. I was hungry one day, and went to McDonald’s, back home my items would’ve cost $2.99 and in Vail $6.99. It’s really a winter playground for the rich. My uncle was very wealthy. Gorgeous town though and phenomenal skiing. Telluride is expensive too

It's not always the destination , but the journey to one of these places , some of those "towns " are full on city's So choose wisely when you get here , it takes fifty years to see the state

Colorado Springs is in the high desert which is very different than the low desert like in Arizona. I live near Salt Lake City Utah (also high desert). We get snow every winter.
