As an 11 year old most of the time i was playing Worms 3D, Simpsons Hit & Run, Sim City, The Sims, Sonic Adventure DX, and that was at a time where 40% of the time PC, 40% of the time TV and 20% of the time going outside, and that was for the weekends. And i had fun nevertheless. And i also kinda disagree with you. Yes, for ages 12 and earlier the rating is rather spot on, but beyond that it needs to be tweaked. Basically the 16+ rating as it is needs to be converted into 14+, and the 16+ rating only reserved for really gory or sexual content. Left 4 Dead would be 14+. Skyrim could possibly apply for 12+ because of medieval setting. Something like the Amnesia series would be 16+ for gore content. GTA, depending on the version (VC and older) would be 14+ and for SA and younger, 16+ fo sexual content. I wonder, since i wasn't there, but i wonder if Street Fighter ever got this topic so hot back in the 90's. I know Doom has. But that was a shooter. Is it because of guns? Not so much about violence at all? (btw, Simpsons Hit & Run, 7+ game where you can run over pedestrians with cars. They don't die, but still).

Also, Skyrim's rating is ridiculous in my opinion, yeah its got gore and violence, but that doesn't mean it should have the rating that it does, I agree with you, it should be 12+ or something around that

The problem I had wasn't that it was a surprising death, but it was that GTA V Johnny completely negates his entire character arc from The Lost and Damned where he leaves the Motor Cycle club after losing faith in it, suffers for his prideful nature, and finally learns to let go of Ashley as she was dragging him down into a pit of drugs and despair, regardless of how many times he tries to save her. GTA V Johnny is a drug-addled idiot who's still in love with Ashley; while that scene was a great 'introduction' to the character of Trevor, I think it would have been far more impactful if Trevor killed the "changed Johnny" of "The Lost and Damned" story. It's honestly as if the developers forgot that they finished his story in GTA IV and how he left the Lost, which is too bad since Johnny was the most interesting protagonist of the GTA IV cast.

travis tenbrunsel besides the graphics, which weren't the best at the time as well, CJ, imo can be a negative in the game. Not that I don't like his capabilities like swimming, riding planes, jet packs and missions, which is very very fun. And the countless things you can do in a place smaller than GTA V. The negative is the storyline, or rather CJ himself in the storyline. Although he did make a success, most of this came from someone, or was given by someone for him to do. It seems that he does this things just because he is told to. Not like Tommy, or even Claude in the 3D universe. CJ made it to the top mainly beacuse of others whoch he had done work with, unlike Tommy who did everything from the ground up, well not necessarily everything, but you get the point.
